As one of the fastest-growing states in the nation, the population of Texas has increased by 12.7 percent, almost double the increase of the nation. Our expanding population is becoming less rural and more diverse. These changes require business and community leaders and educators to provide the education system we need to compete in a global economy. Serving as a TEPSA state officer would allow me to further address the growing needs of the increasingly diverse students in our public schools. Our school children need and deserve the best that we offer as educators. Despite our many gains in the field of public education, we have much work ahead. I graciously accept the challenge of hard work. ALL students should have the benefit of a head start in education, beginning with PreK. My passion for all students in the state of Texas and my enthusiasm for public education will help me promote the needs of our students, teachers, and administrators.
