3 Johns Hopkins Predoctoral Clinical Research Training Program (TL-1) NIH Roadmap Clinical Research Program Includes Johns Hopkins Schools of Medicine, Nursing and Public Health Goal: to expose predoctoral trainees to clinical research during their professional training and to cultivate and train the next generation of clinical investigators. Training: MPH or MHS and mentorship on clinical reseach project

4 Johns Hopkins Predoctoral Clinical Research Training Program (TL-1) Program Features Provide predoctoral trainees with core knowledge, attitudes and skills for performing clinical research Provide short-term (summer, between 1 st and 2 nd year) clinical research experience for pre-doctoral trainees, with studentidentified mentors Provide long-term experience -one year out from medical school while enrolled in the MPH (SPH) Work with student-identified mentor at Johns Hopkins

5 Johns Hopkins Clinical Research Scholars Program (KL-2) For Postdoctoral Fellows and Junior Faculty interested in clinical research that involves multiple disciplines To advance and integrate clinical research activities and training at universities Areas of clinical research: Experimental therapeutics; genetics and molecular epidemiology; evaluation of drugs, devices and surgical procedures; bioinformatics; patient outcomes, health services and health disparities; social and behavioral sciences; statistical methods

6 Johns Hopkins Clinical Research Scholars Program (KL-2) Provide individuals with support for: rigorous training leading to an advanced degree (MHS, MSc, PhD) Practical training in design, conduct, and analysis of clinical research in team settings (CTSA supported coursework) Assures and supports the mentored research experience Supports career development activities (e.g. seminars, conferences, grant writing, career development) Provide Biostatistical & Clinical Research Scientific Resources Core to assist trainees with their specific research project

7 Graduate Training Program in Clinical Investigation (GTPCI) 7 The Graduate Training Program in Clinical Investigation (GTPCI) is intended for faculty, post-doctoral fellows and other allied health professionals working with human subjects in clinical investigation. PhD and MHS degrees in Clinical Investigation are a joint enterprise of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine Other opportunities include Science of Clinical Investigation Certificate Program and Methods in Clinical Research Program (summer)
