3 Plenary Speakers The conference incorporates four individual conferences in medicine, surgery, travel medicine, and podiatric medicine running in parallel over two days. Delegates will be free to move between the parallel conferences and attend sessions of interest from the different disciplines. The four individual conferences will come together for key plenary sessions by inspirational speakers including: John Meara Harvard Medical School Professor John Meara is the Kletjian Professor of Global Surgery in the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine, Professor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School, Director of the Program in Global Surgery and Social Change at Harvard Medical School, Plastic Surgeon-in-Chief at Boston Children s Hospital, and Co-Chair of the Lancet Commission on Global Surgery. James Logan Department of Disease Control Dr James Logan is Associate Professor in the Department of Disease Control, Director of the Arthropod Control Product Test Centre (ARCTEC) at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a Fellow of the Royal Entomological Society. Catherine Calderwood Chief Medical Officer for Scotland Catherine Calderwood is an obstetrician and gynaecologist and continues to have a maternal medicine antenatal clinic at the Royal infirmary of Edinburgh. Catherine qualified from Cambridge and Glasgow universities. Greig Trout Cancer Survivor Greig Trout is a double cancer survivor and the founder of 101 Things To Do When You Survive, a website and initiative designed to spread hope and inspire those going through physical or mental illness.
