1 THE OPPORTUNITY Shanghai Pacican Academy is currently seeking qualified full-time ESL teachers to teach Pacican English programs in Shanghai. As an oral English teacher at Pacican, you will teach at local public schools in the city of Shanghai, with curriculum and textbooks provided. This is the best opportunity to learn China s most advanced English education system and make contributions to its internalization. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Deliver regular lessons to the highest standards (26 periods of class per week; 35 minutes per class in primary schools, 40 minutes per class in secondary schools) Work closely with local teachers to integrate oral ability with the aural and writing focuses of the local curriculum JOB REQUIREMENTS Education A Bachelor's Degree Experience/Certification Two years of relevant teaching experience or 120-hour TEFL/TESOL Certificate Contract Length Citizenship Others The ability to live in China for at least one year Native English speakers without strong regional accent In good health, no criminal records; Outgoing, caring, passionate for helping young students to learn and grow, good at communication, and able to swiftly adapt to a different social and cultural environment

3 ABOUT PACICAN Founded in 2004, Shanghai Pacican Academy specializes in providing English language training, professional skills training and international cultural and educational exchange programs. Between 2004 and 2015, Pacican Academy organized professional training for more than 8,500 Chinese teachers in Shanghai. Pacican is well managed and enjoys a high reputation in the field of English education. Pacican has been awarded Five-A Ranking (the highest ranking) as Non-State-owned Non-Manufacturing Organization by Shanghai Municipal Government for six consecutive years already. Pacican maintains a regular team of over 150 full-time foreign teachers annually (more than half are returning teachers, a dozen have been teaching at Pacican for more than nine / ten years already). Pacican provides many English programs catering to the middle-class Chinese families. Pacican General Oral English Program (GO) is one of them. GO! is an English as a Second Language program designed in cooperation with the District School Board to supplement the standardized English curriculum. The primary objective of this course is to develop students oral facility using Oxford English structures and lexical sets, as well as to build upon those standards when possible.
