1 Service Area Project Description Manager Start End Administrative and Business, Infrastructure Fischer Identity Migration to Hosted Services Fischer is the framework we use for identity management: provisioning of credentials and access to core services as people join the BMC community, and deprovisioning of credentials as people leave the community. This service was initially hosted at Haverford with remote administration by Fischer as part of the SEADS project. We are moving to this "infrastructure as a service (IaaS) model to reduce the complexity of the architecture and service model for this core element of our operations. We are also gaining slight cost savings by migrating to Fischer's hosted model, their primary mode for delivering this service. David Sturgis Jul 2015 Jan 2016 Administrative and Business, Infrastructure PeopleSoft / PeopleTools 8.54 Upgrade As required by Oracle, we will be upgrading from PeopleTools 8.53 to PeopleTools David Sturgis Jul 2015 Mar 2016 Communication and Collaboration Website Revamp Phase 2 This project will develop subsite capabilities in Drupal, to be followed by building out academic and administrative department sites. Migrating sites will include reworking information architecture and content to improve usability. These will require PeopleSoft data integration to display course schedules/descriptions, academic plan data, and faculty/staff listings. Migrating news into Drupal is required to display news stories about departments (accompanied by an appropriate taxonomy). We will also determine options for improving display of Events on the website. Gateway pages may also be reworked in this phase. Juliana Perry Oct 2014 Jul

2 Communication and Collaboration Transition to Cloud /Calendar Service OS X 10.7/10.8/10.9 End of life/adoption of The goal of this project is to migrate brynmawr.edu from in-house Zimbra to either Google Apps for Education or Microsoft 365. Phase 1 of the project will involve confirmation of community and technical requirements and wish list items for /calendar services and review of these two leading alternatives against both requirements and high-level criteria of evaluation. Phase 2 of the project will then entail planned migration from Zimbra to the selected platform with all of the appropriate technical transitions, communications, support and documentation, community orientation and training. Juliana Perry Mar 2015 Sep 2016 This project is to perform research and preimplementation testing for OS X adoption. This upgrade is expected to address file storage speed and access issues. Amy Pearlman Nov 2014 May 2015 Service Catalog Phase 2: Describing Community- Facing Services Transition ILL division to use ILLiad software The second phase of the Service Catalog project will build upon the framework and service inventory completed in Phase 1 by describing each service and how to get it. We will begin by identifying services that are broad and community-facing, prioritizing those descriptions. One deliverable will be a web-based prototype available for testing. Melissa Cresswell Apr 2015 Oct 2015 ILLiad software provides libraries with automated processing of patron Interlibrary Loan requests as well as empowers patrons with information about their requests throughout the ILL lifecycle. This project intends to implement ILLiad software as the primary workflow software, improving the patron experience and saving considerable staff time. David Perry Sep 2015 Jun

3 Assessment Project Join HathiTrust Through several projects completed in recent years, we have streamlined the majority of processes which affect library patrons, e.g. adding/deleting patron records in Tripod, giving patrons a better way to pay their bills, etc. This project will reassess the needs of our constituents and solutions currently available to us. Amy Mayer Jul 2015 Dec 2015 HathiTrust partnership requires a number of technical, administrative, and legal issues to be set before partnership is granted. The goal of this project is to get all items in place and then to join HathiTrust as soon as possible after InCommon membership is completed. Berry Chamness Jun 2015 Aug

4 Rare Book Collection Assessment: In-process Items The project will identify books for removal from the collection either because they are 1) books that would be more appropriately shelved in the open stacks (especially reference and many of the 20th century books), or 2) do not need to be kept by the library at all (principally duplicates and works that are outside of the college's interests, such as theology). This project primarily requires assessment and cataloging work by Special Collections staff. It will also require time from CMD staff who will prepare books for the open shelves, as well as faculty and the Collections Committee who will need to be involved in any de-accessioning. This is one of four related sub-projects: 1. In-process Items 2. Uncat Items 3. Transferring LC/Dewey-cataloged books in Special Collections, etc. to open stacks 4. 7 Teaching, Learning and Research Administrative and Business Develop Liberal Arts Curriculum for the Digital Age (Mellon grant and operationalizing to sustain programs and services beyond the grant period) Assess Online Document (OnBase) Service Model & Staffing This Mellon-funded project is meant as a vehicle for expanding blended learning to the humanities and social sciences, enabling integration of curricular technology into courses in these fields, and promoting digital competencies for students and faculty. The Mellon funding is framed specifically for the purpose of developing sustainable and scalable models, so we are aiming to use this grant program as part of the process of developing robust educational technology services, faculty development programming, and models that work broadly for consultation and project development. Campaign fundraising will, in part, be focused on endowing operational funds to support this set of ongoing activities for Bryn Mawr; therefore, this is a key vehicle for making progress on Digital Bryn Mawr goals over the next two years, as well as for developing robust programs and services to sustain and continuously augment digitally enabled and enabling liberal arts learning and teaching at Bryn Mawr into the future. Gina Siesing Feb 2014 Aug 2017 We want to ensure OnBase (or its future replacement) is in a sustainable, robust state. This assessment will involve determining essential and desired uses of OnBase, benchmarking with peer institutions (and our own past and current model) to determine necessary staffing levels, and determining how best to scope and staff given goals and resources.
