2 Student Ambassador The Cerritos College student ambassador program is a leadership opportunity for students who are dedicated to serving and representing Cerritos College. Student ambassadors will serve as representatives of the college to the campus and community. Application Deadline: Monday, Aug. 28, 2017 by 12:00 pm Submit your completed application packet in person to School Relations, located in the Game Room (north of the Food Court), or electronically at schoolrelations@cerritos.edu. Period of Employment: Friday, Oct. 6, 2017 Saturday, June 30, 2018 Employment may continue through the next academic year. Hours: REQUIRED: Staff training/meetings on Fridays, 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm 5-10 hours per week on average Various hours scheduled through sign ups to represent Cerritos College at K-12s and community events. Some evenings and weekend hours may be required. 3 Student Ambassador Responsibilities Leading campus tours, visiting K-12 schools, delivering presentations, assisting prospective students with admissions, and supporting on-campus events Develop an expanded knowledge of Cerritos College and enrollment steps Conduct campus tours for newly-admitted and future students Represent Cerritos College on campus and in the community Assist with events hosted by School Relations including High School Counselor Conference and Senior Preview Day Work with diverse populations and provide tips on being a successful college student Maintain professionalism and a positive image of Cerritos College Attend and participate in mandatory weekly student ambassador training (Fridays, 1-4 pm) All other duties as assigned Qualifications Must be a currently enrolled Cerritos College student Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 Position requires a minimum of a one academic year commitment. (Fall June 2018) Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills Exhibit leadership, initiative, dependability, discipline, and enthusiasm Preferred Applicants who have reliable transportation, a valid driver s license, and proof of auto insurance are preferred Bilingual (fluent Spanish/English) students are encouraged to apply To apply, please complete and submit the following: 1.
