Unemployment Duration and Search Methods: The Case of Young Australians Youth in Focus Project ( and continuing) The YIF Project created a unique dataset for studying youth outcomes and intergenerational issues in Australia. The dataset consists of administrative data on families receipt of income when a cohort of young people were growing up combined with survey data obtained from about 4000 focal youths were 18 and again when they were 20 years of age as well as survey data obtained from about 4000 mothers of focal youths. The YIF project was conceived and is managed by a small team based at the Australian National University. I have been a core team member since it s conception in Over the years, I have contributed to project management, survey and questionnaire design, supervision of data collection, data quality control etc. After funding ran out by the end of 2009, I have continued to serve as the Data Manager.
