2 GENERAL INFORMATION The Ogun State College of Health Technology, Ilese-Ijebu was established on 28th September, 1976 mainly to train middle level manpower for the delivery of primary health care. Thus becoming the first post-secondary educational institution in the State. In April 2006, the Governor of the State consequent upon the passage of a bill establishing the College by the State House of Assembly graciously assented the bill into law. Thus, upgrading the College to a full Polytechnic status. The College programmes/courses are regulated by both National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) as well as various professional health Boards/Councils which makes our training unique and holistic. The College had since being graduating top quality middle and senior level manpower for the delivery of health care service in Ogun State particularly and Nigeria as a whole. The College for programmes/courses at Certificates, Diplomas, National Diplomas (NDs) and Higher National Diplomas (HNDs) levels with emphasis on primary health and other health related areas. You are welcome to a world of excellence in the promotion of holistic Health. N.B.: The College has a zero-tolerance policy for examination malpractice, cultism and any unfounded behaviors. 3 GENERAL ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS 1. The admission requirements for any of our National Diploma (ND) Programme is a minimum of five (5) credits O/level passes, in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physic and Biology obtain in WAEC/NECO or NABTEB in not more than two (2) sittings. However, all applicants for National Diploma (ND) programme should also endeavour to obtain JAMB form. 2. Details of each programme requirements are explicitly stated on page 5 9. Applicants are advised to carefully read the requirements before making their application as error in the choice of course by applicants will not be tolerated. 3. Applicants awaiting results are free to apply. Such applicants should indicate AR in the column for O/Level Results on the Application Form. However, the O/Level Results being awaited must be ready before admission exercise as no student would be considered for admission without O/Level Results. 4. The requirements for admission into Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes includes; National Diploma (ND) not lower than Lower Credit in relevant course/programme in addition to the Good O/Level requirements stated in (1) above. 3 P a g e

4 Schools / Programmes SCHOOL OF ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH S.NO COURSE DURATION REQUIREMENTS 1 ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH TECHNICIAN 2 WATER AND SANITATION TECHNOLOGY National Diploma (ND) in Water and Sanitation Technology 3 Years Five Passes which must include (3) Credit Passes in any of the following subject, English Language, Biology, Health Science, Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Agricultural Science, Technical Drawing and any other subject, Mathematics would be an added advantage. 2 Years Five (5) O Level Credits in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Geography/Biology and one relevant subject at WAEC, NECO or NABTEB in not more than two (2) sittings. 3 NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) in Environmental Health Technology 4 HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND) in Environmental Health Technology 2 Years Five (5) O Level Credits in WAEC, NECO or NABTEB in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics in not more than two (2) sittings. 2 Years Holders of Good National Diploma (ND) in Environmental Health Technology with at least Lower Credit. 5 SCHOOL OF COMMUNITY HEALTH S.NO COURSE DURATION REQUIREMENTS 1 JUNIOR COMMUNITY HEALTH (ND) 2 Years A Candidate Should Possess three (3) Credits in English, Mathematics, Biology, and Passed in two (2) other subject in WASCE/GCE or NECO at not more than two sittings 2 DIPLOMA IN NUTRITION & DIETETICS 2 Years Five (5) O Level Credits in English Geography and Chemistry from WAEC, NECO or NABTEB in not more than two (2) sittings. 3 COMMUNITY HEALTH (ND) 3 Years (A.) Holder of WASCE, SSCE, NECO or GCE O/L with (5) credit at not more than two sittings, which must include English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics. (B.) Junior Community Heath Extension Worker (JCHEW) with (2) years post qualification experience in addition to the above requirement mentioned and Applicant must be registered with the Community Health Practitioner Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBN) and Possess a valid Practice License. 4 DIPLOMA IN EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY 3 Years Five (5) O Level Credits in English Physics and Chemistry at the SSCE by WAEC, NECO or NABTEB in not more than two (2) sittings. 5 P a g e

6 SCHOOL OF DENTAL HEALTH SCIENCES S.NO COURSE DURATION REQUIREMENTS 1 DIPLOMA IN DENTAL SURGERY TECHNIIQUES (Leading to the award of Diploma for Dental Surgery Technicians) 3 Years Four (4) O Level Credits in English Language, Mathematics, Biology and either Chemistry/Physic from WAEC, NECO or NABTEB in not more than two (2) sittings. 2 NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND), DENTAL TECHNOLOGY 3 NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND), DENTAL THERAPY 4 HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND), DENTAL TECHNOLOGY 5 HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND), DENTAL THERAPY 2 Years Five (5) O Level Credits in English Chemistry and Physics from WAEC, NECO or NABTEB in not more than two (2) sittings. 2 Years Five (5) O Level Credits in English Chemistry and Physics from WAEC, NECO or NABTEB in not more than two (2) sittings. In addition to the above requirements, Diploma in Dental Surgery Techniques is also accepted for admission to ND II, Dental Therapy Programme. 2 Years Holders of National Diploma (ND) in Dental Technology with at least lower credit. In addition Five (5) O Level Credits in English Language, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics from WAEC, NECO or NABTEB in not more than two (2) sittings. 2 Years Holders of National Diploma (ND) in Dental Therapy with at least lower credit. 7 SCHOOL OF HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT S.NO COURSE DURATION REQUIREMENTS 1 DIPLOMA IN HEALTH 3 Years Four (5) O Level Credits in English INFORMATION MANAGEMENT Language, Biology, Mathematics and (HIM) (TECHNICIAN PROGRAMME) ether Physic or Chemistry other subject at SSCE from WAEC, NECO or NABTEB in not more than two (2) sittings.. 2 DIPLOMA IN HEALTH PROMOTION AND EDUCATION 2 Years Five (5) O Level Credits Passes in WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or Grade II in not more than two sittings, English Language, Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry, Biology/Health Science and any other (1) Subject. 3 DIPLOMA IN COMPUTER SCIENCE 2 Years Four (4) O Level Credit Passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics and any other subject at SSCE from WAEC and NECO in not more than two (2) sittings.. 4 DIPLOMA IN MEDICAL SOCIAL WORK 5 NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND), SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT 6 NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND), HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT 7 HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA (HND), HEALTH INFORMATION MANAGEMENT (HIM) 2 years Five (5) O Level Credit Passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology and any other two (2) subject in each from the following Government/History, CRK/IRK, Health Science/Chemistry/Physics, Economic/Commerce/Geography at not more than two (2) sitting. 2 Years Five (5) O Level Credit Passes in English Language, Mathematics, Biology and any other two (2) subject in each from the following Government, History, Chemistry, Physics, Economic, Commerce, Geography in not more than two (2) sitting 2 Years Five (5) O Level Credits in English Chemistry/Physics and any other relevant subject at SSCE from WAEC, NECO or NABTEB. in not more than two (2) sitting 2 Years Holders of National Diploma (ND) in Health Information Management. 8 (A.) National Diploma/Professional Diploma (Technician) Certificate in Health Information Management with a minimum of Lower Credit. (B.) National Diploma/Professional Diploma (Technician) Professional License to Practice by HRORBN (C.) Evidence of Completion of One Year Relevant Work Experience in an accredited Health Institution approved by the Board for National Diploma Candidate Only. (D.) Candidates with a Pass ( ) at the ND Level with two (2) or more year Post ND Cognate Work experience. SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH NURSING S.NO COURSE DURATION REQUIREMENT 1 PUBLIC HEALTH NURSING 2 Years RN & RM/Psychiatric Nursing PROGRAMME Certificate or Theatre Nursing Leading to the award of Higher National Diploma of West Africa Health Examination Board (WAHEB) Certificate for Male candidates. In addition, Five (5) O Level Credits in WAEC, NECO or NABTEB in English Language, Biology and any other three (3) relevant subjects in not more than two (2) sitting. 2 COMMUNITY OPHTHALMIC TECHNICIAN 3 Years Five (5) O Level credits in English Language, Mathematics and Biology and any other two subject from WAEC, NECO or NABTEB in not more than two (2) sitting. 8 P a g e

9 3 HEALTH ASSISTANT PROGRAMME 2 Years Three (3) O Level Credits from WAEC, NECO or NABTEB in Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and a pass in English Language in not more than two (2) sitting. 4 HEALTH TECHNICIAN PROGRAMME 5 NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) PSYCHOSOCIAL REHABILITATION 3 Years (1) Four (4) O Level credits in English Language, Biology Mathematics and any other relevant subject. (2) Holder of Certificate in Health Assistant will be admitted into year 2 of the programme. 2 Years Five (5) O Level credit Passes in Mathematics, English Language, Biology and any of the following: Economics / Commerce, Government, Geography at not more than two sittings from SSCE/NECO/WACE 9 P a g e

10 SCHOOL OF PHARMACY AND MEDICAL DIAGNOSTIC SCIENCE S.NO COURSE DURATION REQUIREMENTS 1 DIPLOMA FOR PHARMACY TECHNICIAN 3 Years Four (4) O Level Credits in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology from WAEC, NECO or NABTEB in not more than two (2) sittings. 2 DIPLOMA FOR MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN 3 DIPLOMA FOR MEDICAL IMAGING TECHNICIAN 4 NATIONAL DIPLOMA (ND) MEDICAL IMAGING 3 Years Five (5) O Level Credits in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physic from WAEC, NECO or NABTEB in not more than two (2) sittings. 3 years Four (4) O Level Credits in Biology Chemistry and Physic with pass in English Language from WAEC, NECO or NABTEB in not more than two (2) sittings 2 years Five (5) O Level Credits in English Chemistry and Physics from WAEC, NECO or NABTEB in not more than two (2) sittings. 10 P a g e
