We sincerely work very hard to provide the kind of education you seek and the individual attention which will enable your child to reach their full potential. A private Catholic high school education is an investment you make in your child s future. It will bear fruit in significant grants and aid when your child goes to college. We are pleased to report that 99% of the Class of 2016 furthered their high school education at colleges and universities. They were offered more than $29 million in scholarships. These positive results underscore the benefits of the financial sacrifice you make on behalf of your child/ren. Our graduates are known throughout the Midwest for being well-rounded young people who are well prepared to succeed in the challenging academic atmosphere of colleges and universities. Each year it is our goal to make every effort to ensure the cost to our families for a Providence Catholic education remains manageable. We estimate next year s actual cost to educate a student at Providence Catholic High School to be approximately $15,283 per student. The gap between this cost and the amount of tuition and fees received from our families continues to increase. However, through the continued support of our families, alumni, friends, and other stakeholders who believe in our mission, we are trying to close the gap. Tuition dollars support our professional faculty, who inspire students to achieve their college goals. These funds support the continued improvement of academic programs, including the expansion of the Bring Your Own Device Program and the incipient STEM Program. After discussion among the Providence Catholic Finance Committee of our Board, we have established tuition and fees for the school year: tuition will be raised $550 from $11, to $12, The discounts for multiple siblings continue to be 10% for the second child and 25% for the third child. Busing fees will increase $50 per route. In the coming school year, Providence Catholic will provide more than $1.4 million dollars to our families in need-based aid. This includes approximately one half million dollars in direct aid and an additional half million dollars in discounts for families with multiple children, Catholic elementary discounts, and faculty/staff discounts. Additional programs which help include student aids, summer work program, and appeals to the Financial Aid Committee.

2 If paying tuition is a struggle for your family, please complete the financial aid form which was due on March 1 st, 2017 and send it to the FACTS Company. DISCOUNT OFFERED FOR SCHOOL YEAR: If you pay the tuition in full by August 1 st, 2017 you will receive a $ discount per student. This discount applies only to tuition and is given only if you have not received any financial aid. Fees: Campus parking fees will be $ for next year; parking at the West Campus (Gougar Road) is $ A $ activity/technology fee is charged for each family. The activity fee covers accident insurance, student admission to all home games (except for state tournaments), drama and choral productions, the yearbook, the underclass retreat fee, technology supplies/licenses, and the school newspaper for each student. Classroom fees depend on the courses your child is taking in the academic program. The Harvest Drive fundraising obligation is $350 for the first student and/or a total of $ per family for two or more students at Providence Catholic at the same time. (The fundraising obligation is an opportunity to write off a portion of your tuition costs by inviting others to support the cause of Catholic education through the Harvest Drive.) Any amount of the fundraising obligation not completed during the Harvest Drive is added to the tuition in the second semester. SENIOR FEES There is a $ fee for all seniors to cover the cost of graduation expenses. The Kairos retreat fee is $ Kairos is a three night experience with food and lodging included with the retreat cost itself. Kairos is held at the Bellarmine Jesuit Retreat House in Barrington, Illinois.

PROVIDENCE CATHOLIC SCHOOL BUSING I have enclosed the busing brochure and the busing contract for the school year. All bus contracts must be received by the transportation company by June 15 th, 2017 so that students may be routed carefully and safely. Contracts received after this date may not be routed and we may not be able to honor the contract to provide bus service to your student. Please remember that the bus contract is for one full year and once turned in to us cannot be canceled. The bus contract deadline allows us to be better prepared to provide bus service at the beginning of the school year. Most bus pickups begin after 6:30 AM, but occasionally pickups may start before 6:30 AM if you live a long way from Providence Catholic. Please read the enclosed brochure governing the bus program and bus routes. Providence Transportation has the final authority on the time and location of bus pick-ups and drop-offs. The company will make reasonable adjustments to bus routes; however, we are unable to provide door-to-door service in most instances. Furthermore, we cannot guarantee that a student will be picked up/dropped off within walking distance from his/her home. For some families, busing may not be feasible due to their remote location or not on a scheduled bus route. So that fees remain reasonable, Providence Catholic absorbs more than 70% of the cost for each student to ride the bus. 5 BUS ROUTES The following bus routes run every school day through your area to Providence Catholic: Channahon, Crest Hill, Frankfort, Homer Township, Joliet, Lemont, Lockport, Manhattan, Mokena, New Lenox, Orland Areas, Plainfield, Rockdale, Shorewood and Tinley Park. Cluster stops are needed in all zones to shorten bus routes and the length of time that students ride the bus. In some cases, parents may need to drive their student to the closest bus pickup point. The following cluster stops are: 1. Amoco Station; Mississippi St. in Elwood; During the first few weeks of school, it is necessary to adjust the bus routes with regard to pickup times and locations so that all buses will arrive at school with enough time for students to go to their lockers and proceed to their first class. All buses should arrive at Providence by 7:45 AM. Routes are subject to change at any time to ensure the buses arrive at PCHS on time th & Forest Avenue in Tinley Park; Depending on the route, your bus may stop in or near your subdivision, but will travel only on main streets in subdivisions. We ask parents to understand that students may be required to walk up to six blocks to their bus pickup point. All contracts received after June 15 will be assigned to pre-existing bus stops. The bus will not wait for students who are not in sight when the bus driver reaches their stop. 3. Jewel; Caton Farm & Route #59 in Joliet; 4. Laraway Road and Rt. 45 in Frankfort; 5. St. Mary Immaculate School; Route #59 in Plainfield. 6. Route #6 & I-55 in Channahon PCHS operates several bus routes in the morning over many miles. Because of the vast territory covered, the buses will be on the road for some time. If you live furthest away from the school on the route, you may expect an early pickup time, since the first pickup usually occurs at the point furthest away or most difficult to access for the bus company. After school, the bus logically goes to the closest point to begin making dropoffs. Unfortunately, those first on the bus in the morning are often the last off the bus in the evening. The majority of pickups begin after 6:15 AM. The Providence Transportation Company is the final authority on the time and location of bus pickups and drop-offs. Behavior on the Bus All Providence Catholic buses are considered to be an extension of the school. While on any Providence Catholic bus, all students are expected to act in accordance with our values and be respectful. Any student reported for inappropriate behavior will be given a detention. Depending on the offense, the student may also be suspended from riding the bus, which will be determined by the Dean s Office.
