7 Sec 3NT Course 2019: Points to Note Subject combination is a best fit for most, if not all the courses at ITE Combination is based on national directions and needs to promote STEM courses at higher institutions Admission to ITE ultimately depends on performance in GCE N(T) Levels Subject combination presented is subject to change depending on school staffing situation, student choices and student performance.

8 Points to Note Selection for subject combination is based first on student performance and choice second. Selection criteria takes into account the overall performance (average) AND performance in relevant subjects to the combination (additional weighting). Students who are keen to get a course of their choice must put in consistent effort throughout the year. 14 Element of Business Skills The content is anchored in how the concepts of basic marketing and customer relations are applied in the context of the three service industries, namely, travel and tourism, hospitality and retail.

16 Subject & Assessment Information EBS The coursework requires candidates to conduct research on a business in one of the three service industries, namely travel and tourism, hospitality and retail industries, in the Singapore context and make recommendations on how the business can improve its marketing mix or customer service. Student Aptitude Other than a keen interest in the service industries, students need to have a good command of the English Language as both papers (Written and coursework) require extended writing and reasoning. To do well in the subject, students need to develop their answers rather than just giving a brief fact.

17 Subject & Assessment Information D&T Design & Technology (D&T) is part of a holistic broad-based education, anchoring on design action and the application of knowledge and process skills. It covers three learning domains where students learn to apply knowledge and skills through design-and-make activities through Design Appreciation, Designing (Journal) and Making (Prototype).

18 Subject & Assessment Information D&T Coursework Weightage & Submission Deadlines Coursework make up 70% of overall D&T marks. Written exam make up the other 30%.

32 ITE EARLY ADMISSION EXERCISE (EAE) EAE is an aptitude-based admissions exercise that allows students to apply and receive conditional offers for admission to ITE based on their aptitudes and interests, prior to receiving their final grades.
