2 GENERAL APPLICATION INFORMATION Please review this page completely to determine the required procedures and components of your application for admission. Each of the 4 steps will assist you with developing all preliminary steps of the admissions process. Applications are evaluated only after all necessary information and documentation are received by the Graduate School of Education. Completed files will be processed and evaluated by the Admissions Office and the appropriate program chair. Applicants will generally be notified of the admissions decision within two weeks after the personal interview. Full consideration cannot be assured to applicants who fail to meet application deadlines or requirements. Two letters of recommendation from individuals knowledgeable about your character, personal and academic abilities, and potential for success as a graduate student and master of education. Letters from family members will not be accepted. 3. Universities from which you received degrees or credentials. If you attended a California Community College and those units were accepted towards your Bachelor s degree, please list only the Bachelor s degree. Then include official or unofficial transcripts, showing completion of the Baccalaureate degree and (as appropriate) credential issuance from a regionally accredited college or university, with a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or above (undergraduate) and 3.0 and above (graduate). Official transcripts will be required prior to matriculation. U.S. Citizens or Permanent Residents with degrees from nonu.s. institutions must submit a report from an Evaluation Agency. 4. CREDENTIAL AND MASTER'S DEGREE PROGRAM OPTIONS The Graduate School of Education offers a variety of credential and degree options designed to provide today's educators with the skills necessary to keep pace with a rapidly changing educational environment. Most Master s degree programs have a credentialcompletion option in which units from the credential are applied towards completion of the Master s degree. Please consult the GSOE Catalog and web site for more information on the requirements. From the list below, please indicate the option(s) you wish to pursue as a student in the GSOE. A representative from the programs you indicate will counsel with you during the admissions process and, as a result of these sessions, an applicant may choose to select a different option prior to matriculation.
