1 Thenmala Ecotourism Promotion Society (TEPS) (A society under Government of Kerala) Vazhuthacaud, Thiruvananthapuram Ph: & Thenmala, Kollam Ph: Notification No: TEPS/526/2012 Date: Applications are invited from qualified hands for the appointment of accountants in Thenmala Ecotourism Promotion Society. The name of posts, the scale of pay, probable number of vacancies and required qualifications are provided below. I. Vacancy Name of Scale of pay Probable Qualifications Experience post no. of vacancies Accountant Rs (Two) Bcom. Degree One year experience (prerevised) with a in accounting certificate in services from a any accounting chartered accounting software from firm or from any approved Government/ institutes. Government institutions/psu/govt approved Autonomous bodies/co-operative Societies/Societies II. General Conditions regarding submission of applications. 1. Application shall be submitted online to TEPS in the format prescribed in the website of TEPS ( 2. Please ensure that you have the application fee in the form of DD before proceeding to online registration. 3. The last date of submission of online application is p.m. on 20/06/ Community certificate and non creamy layer certificate from Tahsildar/Village Officer should be submitted along with the application. 5. Signed, hard/print copy of online application, downloaded from TEPS website, along with attested Photo, application fee (Demand Draft) and self attested copies of certificates (For proving age, qualification, experience, community etc) should 1
2 be forwarded to the Chief Executive, TEPS, TC 26/849(1), Vazhuthacaud, Thiruvananthapuram on or before the last date without fail, so as to reach on or before 25/06/2017 till 4.00 p.m. A copy of the same may be retained by the candidate for future reference. Note: The registration ID obtained after submitting the online application through the website shall be quoted for all future correspondence/enquiries. 6. The application fee shall be submitted in the form of Demand Draft in favour of the Chief Executive TEPS from any nationalised bank payable at Thiruvananthapuram. The application fee for the post shall be Rs.500/- for general/obc candidates. The application fee for SC/ST candidates shall be Rs.250/- Note: The application fee once remitted will not be refunded under any circumstance. 7. Candidates claiming fee concession shall submit a copy of the SC/ST certificate from the competent authority along with the application. If the duly attested copy of certificate is not attached, the application will be rejected for want of sufficient amount of DD. 8. The envelope containing application should be super scribed as Application for the post of Accountant in TEPS 9. The applications that are not complete in all respect will not be considered. 10. Applications without required certificates or documents will not be considered and will be rejected. 11. Selection will be based on qualification and experience and performance in the written tests and interview. Claims in respect of qualifications, experience etc should be supported by copies of relevant documents: candidates should produce the originals at the time of interview. 12. No TA/DA will be paid for the interview/written test. 13. Communications of interview call letter from TEPS will be through only. Candidates are advised to visit TEPS website regularly for updates/notices and announcements. 14. Canvassing in any form will lead to automatic disqualification. Candidates are advised to desist from such practices. 15. Candidates employed in central Government / State Government /Public Undertakings /Autonomous bodies etc. shall submit a No Objection Certificate (along with the printout of the application submitted) from the Head of the Institution. 16. Qualification, experience prescribed by TEPS, should be strictly followed and applications without any of them will be rejected. 17. Late applications will not be considered after the last date of submission. 2
3 18. Request for change/correction in the application form shall not be entertained under any circumstances. 19. Candidates are advised to submit their duly filled applications much in advance before the closing date to avoid the possibility of late receipt. 20. Late applications (Both online and Hard Copy or any one of it) will not be considered and TEPS will not be responsible for any postal delay or loss in transmission / transit. 21. The Chief Executive TEPS will hold the right to reject any application without any further information to the applicant. 22. Checklist (mandatory) i. Pasted Photograph and duly attested. ii. Hardcopy of online application duly signed. iii. Original Demand Draft iv. Self attested copies of certificates proving age, qualification, experience etc. v. Community/Creamy layer certificate for candidates claiming reservation status. Note: The applications submitted, in the absence of any of the documents mentioned above, will be summarily rejected and no intimation will be sent to the candidates. 23. Candidates shall submit an affidavit/certificate in the prescribed format, while making the application to the effect that documents in original in proof of qualifications, experience, age, community shall be produced on demand as and when required. 24. While making the application, candidates also shall have to submit an undertaking in the prescribed format as per clause III(1) of General conditions of appointment 25. Applications submitted (online and / or printout) without fulfilling the above requirements shall be summarily rejected without further notice. 26. The receipt of hardcopy of the application after the last date and time prescribed will not be considered. TEPS is not responsible for any delays on whatever account it may be. The decision of the Selection committee will be final in this aspect. 27. Hall ticket can be downloaded from TEPS website. The non receipt of the hall tickets is not the responsibility of TEPS. 28. Applicants without hall tickets will not be allowed to write the test. 29. Decision whether to admit the candidates for the interview in case he or she fail to bring any required document rests entirely at the discretion of selection committee of TEPS, depending on the importance of the document. 3
4 30. A candidate s admission to the test/interview is strictly provisional. The mere fact that the call letter has been issued to the candidate does not imply that his/her candidature has been finally cleared by the Selection Committee of TEPS. 31. Pass in the written test alone will not be criteria for selection, as the qualification prescribed for the post will scrupulously scrutinised before, during or after the interview. Even if a candidate is permitted to appear for written test and qualified for interview, later found to be not meeting the qualification or criteria mentioned, he or she will not be called for the interview. 32. In case if it is detected at any stage that a candidate does not full fill the eligibility norms and/or that he/she has furnished any incorrect/false information/certificate/documents or has suppressed any material facts, his/her candidature will stand cancelled. If any of these shortcomings is/are detected even after appointment, his/her service is liable to be terminated. The decision of Chief Executive, TEPS will be final in this regard. III. General Conditions of Appointment 1. All candidates shall submit an undertaking in the prescribed format provided as Annexure to this notification, which they shall agree to be transferred and posted at any of TEPS offices at any point of time during their service period. 2. Candidates shall be within the age of 36 years for general candidates, 39 for OBC candidates and 41 for SC/ST candidates as on 01/01/ Candidates applying for the post shall have attained the qualification/experience prescribed on or before the date of this notification. 4. The notified designation, scale of pay and other benefits are liable to be modified/enhanced as and when decided to be allowed by the Executive Committee of TEPS. IV. Method of selection Selection shall be made from the rank lists prepared after conducting objective type tests (OMR valuation)/descriptive test/interview. Weightage for objective test and descriptive test will be 40% each and 20% for the interview. Total marks will be recalculated at 100 (40 marks for objective test, 40 marks for descriptive test and 20 marks for interview) Rank lists shall be prepared by considering the scores obtained in the objective test, descriptive test and the interview as per the weightage decided. 4
5 V. Validity of rank lists 1. The rank list shall be valid for a minimum period of two (Two) year and maximum period of 3 (Three) years from the date of publication of the respective list. VI. Exam conditions This is a direct recruitment based on the examination conducted and interview. The tests will be conducted by TEPS or its designated agency. The part I i.e. objective test will be evaluated initially and a rank list will be formed. The answer sheets of the part II i.e. descriptive test of the shortlisted number of candidates from the part I (objective test) will only be evaluated and a revised rank list will be prepared. A shortlisted number of candidates from the rank list totalling the marks obtained in the Part I and Part II shall be prepared and provided for conducting interview. The Selection Committee of TEPS shall verify the certificates submitted by candidates with the original ones and make sure that the candidates meeting the required qualifications are considered for the interview. The interview committee shall conduct the interview and a rank list will be prepared by the selection committee. A. Conditions for Objective Test 1. Time/Duration: The tests will be of 90 minutes duration with 100 questions. 2. Syllabus: Basic accounting rules, Book keeping, basic knowledge in Talley, Rules regarding taxes, labour rules etc. English language and General Knowledge 3. For the test, for each correct response, the candidate will be awarded 1 (One) mark. More than one response or wrong method of marking for a question shall be deemed to be incorrect answer. For each incorrect answer 1/3 rd of the mark assigned to the correct answer to that question shall be deducted from the total marks secured by the candidate for the test concerned. B. Conditions for Descriptive Test 1. All candidates shall have to appear for the descriptive test. 2. Time/Duration: The tests for 50 marks will be of 60 minutes duration with 7 questions. 3. Syllabus: Accounting problems/questions related to General accounting and management accounting 4. For the test, no negative marks for incorrect answer. C. General Conditions for examinations. 1. The language of the test will be in English. 2. The candidates will not be permitted to use calculator, logarithm table, mobile phone or any other electronic equipment in the examination hall. 3. The answer keys of objective test shall be published in the website of TEPS within 2 days of the date of the test. 5
6 4. Complaints, if any. From the candidates regarding the answer keys may be sent to the Chief Executive, TEPS, in writing, within five calendar days from the date of publication of the keys. Complaints not substantiated with supporting documents will not be entertained. Complaints received after five calendar days from the date of publication of answer keys will not be entertained. Complaints entertained will be placed before a panel of experts. 5. Experts appointed by the Chief Executive, TEPS shall examine the complaints and the decision there on shall be final. 6. Test center will be at Thiruvananthapuram. D. Conditions for the interview 1. Candidates selected in the written test will have to appear before a selection interview board of TEPS, along with the hall ticket of the written test. 2. All candidates selected for the interview will be made to sit in a separate area once they submit their certificates and documentation for verification. They should not carry any other belongings apart from their certificates to the waiting room. If any candidate is found to have violated the rule, he or she will be disqualified. 3. No accompanying person is allowed to come near the vicinity of the interview hall or waiting room. 4. Each candidate will be separately called for the interview and examined in detail. 5. After the interview each candidate should leave the hall immediately. 6. Any attempt to disrupt or interfere with the proceeding or any misconduct towards assisting staff or interview board members will disqualify the candidate without further explanation. 7. Interview may include questions related to attitude assessment, aptitude assessment, subject assessment, personality assessment etc. 8. If candidates fails to complete the process of interview, he/she will not be ranked.
