Dunes International School, Abu Dhabi seeks to make the most appropriate placement for each student based on his or her age, academic report cards and transfer papers from the previous school, within the policy and guidelines of Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK). Online registration forms are available on our website - Please read the following guidelines: There are three steps for admission: Step 1 :Online Registration a. Submission of the online registration form. b. Attend the assessment/interactive session as per the schedule sent via registered ID. c. If your ward is selected which will be informed through , please proceed to Step 2. Step 2 : Confirm Registration a. Revisit the registration form and complete all the fields (Including non-mandatory fields). b. Upload all documents. c. Payment of non-refundable fee of AED 600/- to confirm registration. Step 3 : Confirm Admission Payment of school fees as per the details that will be communicated via registered By the school. Note: CONFIRM REGISTRATION DOES NOT GUARANTEE ADMISSION. FINALIZATION OF ANY ADMISSIONS WILL BE BASED ON THE PRINCIPAL S DISCRETION. ADMISSION TO THE SCHOOL IS SUBJECT TO THE APPROVAL OF THE ABU DHABI DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE (ADEK).

2 The name, date and place of birth entered in the registration form should conform to the emirates ID for the UAE residents and as per the passport for others. Any discrepancies in the form filled and the original document can result in the disqualification of the form for admission. Please ensure that your data is entered correctly to avoid disappointment. Please ensure to enter a valid address and contact number when completing the registration form. An acknowledgement will be sent on receipt of the complete registration form to the registered ID. This will contain a registration number and other information for admission. Age Criteria for Admission - (Academic Year ) The age criteria/limit for admission to the various classes (from KG 1 to Grade 1) is as follows: Age is calculated as on April 1st, 2019 Grade Date Of Birth Minimum Age Maximum age (as on (Should be on or before) 2019) (as on ) KG Years 8 months 4 Years and 8 months KG Years 8 months 5 Years and 8 months GRADE Years 8 months 6 Years and 8 months GRADE- 2 Upwards Duly attested transfer certificate and mark sheet of the previous academic year is required.

Printout of admission form with all fields filled (Including non-mandatory fields) b. 2 colored copies of student s passport first page, last page and valid visa page c. 2 colored copies of the Emirates ID of the student front and back side of the Emirates ID d. 2 colored copies of student s attested birth certificate (If a student is born in UAE or any GCC country, birth certificate issued by Government Department of that country is valid. No attestation required.) If a student is born in India a. If the birth certificate is in english It should be attested by UAE Embassy, Delhi or UAE Consulate, Mumbai and ministry of foreign affairs, Abu Dhabi. b. If the birth certificate is not in english it should be translated by a legal translator attested by the ministry of foreign affairs, Abu Dhabi. e. 3 recent passport size colored photographs of the student with the white back ground (Please write full name of student on reverse side) f. Copy of the vaccination record of the student. g. 4 If a student is born in UAE or any GCC country, birth certificate issued by Government Department of that country is valid. No attestation required. If a student is born in India : a. If the birth certificate is in English It should be attested by UAE Embassy, Delhi or UAE Consulate, Mumbai and ministry of foreign affairs, Abu Dhabi b. Students coming from India the transfer certificate/leaving certificate need to be attested by the Education Officer of the Zone/District/Area from where the Certificate is obtained. The seal and signature of the Education Officer has to be verified by the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the UAE Foreign Affairs Ministry. b. If the applicant is locally transferred within Abu Dhabi, esis No. and esis Mark sheet from previous school should be submitted. c. Students coming from other Emirates other than Abu Dhabi, the Transfer/Leaving Certificate should be attested by the Ministry of Education of that Emirate. d. Students coming from GCC Countries, the Transfer/School Leaving Certificate should be attested by the Ministry of Education. 5 Academic Year Admission for Grade 11 Dunes International School offers the following streams for grade 11 candidates- 1. SCIENCE Group 1 English Mathematics Physics Chemistry Physical Education/Computer Science/Biology/ Psychology Group 2 English Biology Physics Chemistry Physical Education /Computer Science/Psychology 2. COMMERCE Group 1 English Business studies Group 2 English Business Studies Accounts Economics Accounts Economics Physical Education /Computer Science/Mathematics/ Psychology Physical Education /Computer Science/Entrepreneurship/ Psychology 3. The compulsory subjects that the candidate will have are: a) General Studies b) Work Experience c) Physical and health Education ADMISSION PROCESS: EXTERNAL CANDIDATES Candidates from other schools will get a provisional admission in December 2017, if they fulfill the eligibility criteria listed below. The candidates have to fill the application form and submit the documents with a provisional mark sheet from the previous school attended. The student seeking admission should have been studying in a school recognized by or affiliated by CBSE or any other recognized Board of Secondary Education.

6 The candidate must satisfy the requirement of age limits (minimum and maximum) as determined by the Government and applicable to Abu Dhabi, UAE. Birth certificate must be attached as evidence. Kindly note-candidates not fulfilling any one eligibility criteria will not be allowed to appear for the written admission test. SELECTION CRITERIA: The selection of candidates will be done on the basis of their performance in written test and the interview with the admission committee. Written test: The eligible candidates have to appear for an entrance exam as scheduled and notified. Written test (MCQ s) based on CBSE secondary school curriculum (Grade 10) 1 st term portion will be held on the following subjects as per the stream opted by the candidate. STREAM SCIENCE STREAM- Group 1 SCIENCE STREAM- Group 2 COMMERCE STREAM- Group 1 INTERVIEW: TEST SUBJECTS ENGLISH, MATHEMATICS, SCIENCE, APTITUDE TEST ENGLISH, SCIENCE, APTITUDE TEST ENGLISH, APTITUDE TEST, MATHEMATICS The selected candidates have to appear for an interview along with their parents.
