Course Equivalencies are a local decision made by CR faculty and may not align with how AP credit is awarded toward CSU or IGETC GE. The amount of credit awarded for a course equivalency at CR cannot exceed the number of units awarded through the student s elected GE pattern. How credits are awarded toward GE breath for CSU, IGETC and local CR course equivalencies is outlined in the tables following this form. It is important to know that each university system may have additional local decisions for how and/or how much credit is awarded for any given AP subject. When making the decision for how to apply your AP credits at CR, please consult with a counselor or advisor about the best option for you, as well as research how your AP may be awarded at your target transfer institution(s). A separate form must be completed for any additional degrees awarded at CR. Do not include the additional tables with this form. They are for reference only. For example, a student may choose to use AP History toward a CR course equivalency for his/her major and follow CSU breadth. In this case, at CR only 3 units would be awarded for a history course equivalency, because a maximum of 3 units is awarded toward CSU GE breadth. If there are two course equivalencies for one AP score, the equivalency will be automatically determined by whichever provides the student the most benefit, unless otherwise noted on the form.
