8 ESOL Program (English for Speakers of Other Languages) The mission of the Magazine ESOL program is to equip students with the language skills they need to be socially and academically prepared to be successful students in the Magazine School District. The district has provided English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) services to English Language Learners (ELLs) for many years. Currently, the school system serves 4 ESOL students whose home language is Hmong. The ESOL program provides students with the opportunity to reach proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing as measured on the ELPA21.
