The count was 1163 but when finalized, our correct ADM count is 1162 which will make the loan total $116,300 with 1% interest over five years. Motion carried 5 to 0. 2016-17 Enrollment Update Dr. Kleefisch informed the Board and public that he is concerned since our enrollment numbers are down by 35 students compared to this time last year. This is due to the fact that we have a low MSD of Boone Twp 1 of 3 10/11/2016 Regular Minutes

number of students that enrolled in kindergarten and we had a large number of senior students that graduated in June. We reduced our kindergarten class by one classroom and one teacher however we did hire two lunchroom aides to help the kindergarten classrooms. Dr. Kleefisch is hopeful that the student enrollment will increase by the second ADM count day in February. Elementary & Middle School Cafeteria & Kitchen Update Mr. Scott Howard, Food Service Director with Chartwells, reported to the Board that Chartwells plans to update the kitchen and cafeteria serving line. The equipment is 30 years old and does not meet the current health department requirements. There will be several improvements made that are expected to increase the efficiency through the line, which will increase the number of students being served by 10%-20%. These updates will cost approximately $200,000 with the food service department covering $50,000 of it and Chartwells will finance the remainder at 0% for five years. They will also install a new pizza oven, called Ovenation, for an additional $5,000. This oven will bake pizzas in 4 minutes versus 20 minutes that it takes with the current equipment. These updates and improvements will be completed over the Christmas break and should take 3 days. Superintendent Comments Dr. Kleefisch reported and/or submitted the following information to the Board: The Superintendent Forum will take place Thursday, Oct. 20th at 6:00 pm in the Middle School Media Center. Dr. Kleefisch will discuss the Bullying prevention program, starting an Education Foundation, random drug testing for high school students, and other updates. The community is welcome to attend.
