number of students that enrolled in kindergarten and we had a large number of senior students that graduated in June. We reduced our kindergarten class by one classroom and one teacher however we did hire two lunchroom aides to help the kindergarten classrooms. Dr. Kleefisch is hopeful that the student enrollment will increase by the second ADM count day in February. Elementary & Middle School Cafeteria & Kitchen Update Mr. Scott Howard, Food Service Director with Chartwells, reported to the Board that Chartwells plans to update the kitchen and cafeteria serving line. The equipment is 30 years old and does not meet the current health department requirements. There will be several improvements made that are expected to increase the efficiency through the line, which will increase the number of students being served by 10%-20%. These updates will cost approximately $200,000 with the food service department covering $50,000 of it and Chartwells will finance the remainder at 0% for five years. They will also install a new pizza oven, called Ovenation, for an additional $5,000. This oven will bake pizzas in 4 minutes versus 20 minutes that it takes with the current equipment. These updates and improvements will be completed over the Christmas break and should take 3 days.
