Battlefield High School Athletic Boosters Club Scholarship Application For the 2018-2019 academic year, the Battlefield High School Athletics Boosters Club shall award six (6) scholarships. A $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to two (2) individual Senior Battlefield High School student-athletes for each of the sports seasons (Fall, Winter & Spring) for a total of $6,000 per academic year. Requirements for Scholarship: 1) Must be a graduating Senior of Battlefield High School who will be attending a college, university, community college, or trade school for the Fall semester/quarter of the 2019-2020 academic year. a) Applicants do not need to be accepted into their collegiate program prior to applying. b) College or trade school designation should be made available upon acceptance. 2) Must be a Varsity team member of a VHSL sanctioned Battlefield High School sport. Application Process: 1) Complete the Battlefield High School Athletic Booster Club 2018-2019 Scholarship Application found at www.bobcatsathletics.org. 2) Submit completed application to bobcatathleticscholarship@gmail.com. Attachments are acceptable if more space is needed. 3) One (1) letter of recommendation from each of the student-athlete s varsity coaches is required. a) Inform the coach to send the letter of recommendation directly to the scholarship application email: bobcatathleticscholarship@gmail.com. b) Have the coach inform you when this has been completed. 4) Complete all 3 short answer questions (included on the scholarship application). 5) Provide Guidance Counselor name & the scholarship committee will obtain your certified academic GPA (core & cumulative) from the Guidance Department of Battlefield HS. 1

Deadlines: 1) Submit the completed application with all required materials to bobcatathleticscholarship@gmail.com prior to the deadline listed below: a) Fall Sports Season application due on November 14, 2018 by 6:00 pm b) Winter Sports Season application due on February 13, 2019 by 6:00 pm. c) Spring Sports Season application due on April 17, 2019 by 6:00 pm. d) No application will be accepted after the due dates. Selection: 1) Applications will be considered based on the requirements detailed below. Within these requirements, the committee will balance consideration of applicant differences in: a) Quality of short answer question responses b) Participation in sports c) Level of athletic achievement d) Recommendations e) Volunteer work f) GPA Award: Each scholarship will be made payable to the student-athletes account at the college, university, community college, or trade school of choice (following confirmation of acceptance) via standard Battlefield High School practices. The BHS ABC reserves the right to modify this application at any point prior to the beginning of each school year. 2
