BY-LAW ARTICLE XI SPORTS OFFICIALS FEES FOR 2017-18 SCHOOL YEAR A mileage stipend shall be paid to the driver for gasoline and wear and tear on their vehicle at the following tiers one-way: over 40 miles $14.00, over 80 miles $24.00 for varsity and sub-varsity. The pre-season contest rate shall be the same as the sub-varsity rate. The fee for any contests where the same referee is used for two different games at the same site on the same day be reduced by $10.00. The following sports are excluded from the $10.00 reduction: gymnastics, swimming and diving and track and field. Gymnastics Dual Meet is defined as 2 teams with a total judgment of 28 routines. Tri Meet is defined as 3 teams with at total judgment of 42 routines. Quad Meet is defined as 4 teams with a total judgment of 56 routines. Dual meet with 2 officials, 2 events at a time = 28 judgments Single fee = $86.00 Tri Meet with 2 officials, 2 events at a time = 42 judgments 1.5 X fee = $129.00 Tri Meet with 3 officials: 1 judge does 2 events (42 judgments) = 1.5 X fee ($129.00) Quad Meet with 2 officials, 2 events at a time = 56 judgments 2 X fee = $172.00 Quad Meet with 3 officials: 1 judge does 2 events (56 judgments) = 2 X fee ($172.00) 2 judges do 1 event (28 judgments) = fee ($86.00) Quad with 4 officials, 1 event at a time = 28 judgments All judges single fee = $86.00 In the event of independent competitors from schools who do not have teams: If you are sending an independent gymnast to a meet, you must submit in advance, or bring with you to the meet, payment in the amount of $4.00 per event or $16 per athlete. Individual gymnasts must contact all schools where they plan on attending meets at least one week in advance and if the gymnast then does not show up at the meet, she will still be responsible for the payment of officials. Track Varsity Dual Meet - 1 Official required at single flat fee. Varsity Invitational Meet - 2 Officials recommended at single flat fee per official; however, if only one official is assigned, he/she shall receive 2X the single flat fee. (without the travel fee reduction). An invitational meet is defined as five (5) or more teams with ten (10) or more competitors per team. SWIMMING AND DIVING Dual Meet 2 officials required: $91/official; over 4 hours, each official will be paid 1.5 times the normal rate, $136.50 1 official: $136.50 (1.5 times the rate); over 4 hours, the single official will be paid 2 times the normal rate, $182.00 Varsity Invitational* Meet 2 Officials $171.00/each If Diving is an event: 1 additional Official $171.00 *An invitational meet is defined as five (5) or more teams with ten (10) or more competitors per team. WRESTLING A. Dual Meet Fee - $91.00 B. Individual Tournaments All tournament fees for officials for non-dual meet individual competitions or tournaments are based on a per bout fee and time allowance. The per bout fee is the years dual meet fee divided by 14 (wt. classes) or $6.50 per bout (including overtime periods). Consolation matches are prorated depending tournament designation of length of match (including overtime periods). Rates are as follows for the 2017-2018 season: Championship Round $6.50 5 minute Consolation $5.55 4 minute Consolation $4.60 3 minute Consolation $3.65 C. All non-varsity rates shall be established as 75% of varsity dual meet rate or $68.25 per non-varsity dual meet: All tournament fees for officials for non-varsity competition are per match charge based upon the dual meet non-varsity fee for that year. The per bout fee is the years non-varsity dual meet fee divided by 14 (wt. classes) or $4.88 per bout (including overtime periods). Consolation matches are prorated depending upon tournament designation of length of match (including overtime periods). Rates are as follows for the 2017-2018 season: Non-Varsity Championship Round $4.88 Non Varsity 5 minute Consolation $4.17 Non Varsity 4 minute Consolation $3.45 Non Varsity 3 minute Consolation $2.74 D. All non-varsity competition during a dual, tri-meet, quad meet or other extended dual meet or team dual meet competition will pay a per match fee equivalent to that seasons non-varsity dual ($68.25 for 2017-18) meet fee divided by 14 (wt. classes) or $4.88 per bout in the 2017-2018 season.
