Issue 1 7th September 2018 Thought of the Week Challenge Every accomplishment starts with the decision to try - John F. Kennedy Welcome Welcome back to school and a warm welcome to all of you who are new to St Luke s Catholic Academy. We are looking forward to a great school year together. Together we learn, together we achieve, together we grow in God s love. Dear Parents, Headteacher Notice Welcome back to another academic year. This year of learning will be wonderful. Over the course of the last term, as a school, we have been reviewing our values, what we stand for and what we wish to instil in our children. These discussions have culminated in the development of our Values Tree. How we praise and recognise children s great achievements will centre around the values identified on the tree. As a result, through love and as a community; we share, inspire and motivate our children so they can be the best they can be. As a community we believe passionately in education and as a school we strive to provide a rich and varied curriculum to enrich your children s lives. As Christian educators we strive to ensure children excel, not just academically but in faith and as individuals. Our children learn to love themselves, love each other and the world around them and to love God. We are proud of our children and all they will achieve this year and in the years to come. Education Finance you will have heard about the challenges schools are facing with reducing budgets and limited resources. As a school we are also facing significant financial challenges. We will strive to maintain the excellent education your child receives and we do not, like other schools, burden you with requests for a yearly contribution. However, I do call upon you to support our PTA, to raise funds to purchases the extra things that the school cannot fund. If I climb the heavens, Lord, you are there. If I fly to the point of sunrise, your right hand holds me fast. (Ps 139) Mr Kendal
