How to help your student be successful in high school Help your student get to school on time every day! 4 tardies = Detention Encourage attendance! Research shows that students who are often absent are less likely to graduate from high school and are more likely to be unemployed for a long time. Make sure your student completes his/her homework! Students should spend 1-2 hours daily on homework and/or studying. Students are expected to turn in homework on time. Good grades (All As and Bs) can help get scholarships. Students may only retake classes in which they received a D or F grade. Make sure your student utilizes school wide tutoring (2:30-3:00 p.m.) Students can also meet with teachers before school (7:30-7:55 a.m.) Log in to Synergy on a regular basis to check grades.
