How to help your student be successful in high school Help your student get to school on time every day! 4 tardies = Detention Encourage attendance! Research shows that students who are often absent are less likely to graduate from high school and are more likely to be unemployed for a long time. Make sure your student completes his/her homework! Students should spend 1-2 hours daily on homework and/or studying. Students are expected to turn in homework on time. Good grades (All As and Bs) can help get scholarships. Students may only retake classes in which they received a D or F grade. Make sure your student utilizes school wide tutoring (2:30-3:00 p.m.) Students can also meet with teachers before school (7:30-7:55 a.m.) Log in to Synergy on a regular basis to check grades.

How to help your student be successful in high school Discipline Make sure your student knows the rules (in student planner) and follows them. Encourage your student to leave cell phone at home or in locker.
