Delta Academies Trust (the Trust) was incorporated on the 2 September 200. It is a company limited by guarantee with no share capital (registration no. 0786086) and is an exempt educational charity under the Academies Act 200. The charitable company's memorandum and articles of association dated October 200, are the primary governing documents of the Trust. The Trust is a single-trust multi-academy sponsor, with a clear geographical context, mainly in the Yorkshire and Humber region. It acts as one employer across all the academies which it sponsors. The have an overview of the governance arrangements of the Trust and the power to appoint and remove directors. The s of the charitable company are directors for the purposes of the Companies Act 2006 and trustees for the purposes of charity legislation. s of the charitable company are nominated by either the Secretary of State for Education or by the members. s, who are appointed on a voluntary basis, are drawn from the public and private sector, and bring significant educational and other professional expertise. The Trust Board of s is the legal governing body of all academies within the MAT and remains accountable in law and to OFSTED and the Education and Skills Funding Agency for the exercise of its functions. The specific functions and decisions that are reserved to the Board are set out in the Trust s Scheme of Delegation. The Trust Board of s has decided to meet at least six times a year and its rules and methods of operation are set out in the Trust s published Memorandum and Articles of Association. The Board of s (BoD) sets out group strategy and operational policies, which are then applied within and across all academies through the Executive Leadership of the Trust and via Academy Heads of Academy, Principals, Senior Leadership Teams and Academy Advisory Bodies (AABs) which are established in each academy.
