This year the Annual HIVPA Conference will be held in Manchester at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. The hotel is conveniently located in the city centre and is easily accessible by road, air and rail. The conference will start at lunchtime on Friday 15 th June 2018 and will finish at 5.30pm on Saturday. There are a wide variety of topics on offer over the two days, with some very experienced speakers that will cater for all our delegates, so book your place early to avoid disappointment. Following on the success of previous years, we are pleased to announce that we will continue to be holding a number of technician and junior pharmacist focused sessions throughout the conference. There will 10 free technician spaces available on a first come first served basis. There is of course the more social side to the conference, where you have the opportunity to catch up with old friends and colleagues and to meet new ones. The conference provides an excellent networking opportunity as well as a chance to relax at the informal dinner in the hotel on the Friday evening. There will also be a poster exhibition at the conference which will display the best of HIV pharmacy practice and research. There will be a sponsors exhibition open to our industry sponsors where information and updates will be available from our industry colleagues. We encourage all pharmacists and technicians to register early and attend for the full two days to get the most from the conference with its high quality professional education and networking opportunities which should not be missed! Travelling to the venue: By car Join the M56 towards Manchester City Centre which joins the inner ring road. The hotel is located just off the inner ring road on the left hand side in the heart of the City. Set your satnav:- 70 Shudehill, Manchester, M4 4AF. Car parking is available at the Total P Shudehill car park which is located across the road from the hotel. There is also an NCP car park is across the road from the hotel and at the time of preparing this Conference Programme the Crowne Plaza offer a discount on parking. Posters: All pharmacists and technicians are encouraged to submit an abstract for the poster presentation at this conference and to be in with a chance to win the Ushma Patel Prize for Pharmacy Practice and research! Posters are welcome from industry partners and sponsors; the same submission rules apply. Preference will be given to abstracts which display the work of pharmacy practice and in particular, the role of the specialist pharmacist/technician. HIVPA will accept abstracts previously submitted to other conferences, but would ask that the work that is submitted is current and up to date. The submission process is: Submit an abstract of 2500 characters (including spaces) or less of the main poster presentation and poster to be sent by Tuesday 23 rd May, 2018 to hivpaoffice@gmail.com Full poster presentation to be brought to the conference The winner and runners up of the Ushma Patel poster prize will be announced on Saturday 16 th June 2018. Poster boards with small pins will be provided at the conference for display purposes. Poster programme: The following information is required for all poster/abstract submissions:- Title of abstract Name and job title of lead author and names of co-authors Name of department and unit being represented plus contact address and post code Email address of submitting unit / lead author and contact phone number Maximum of 2500 characters (including spaces) on just one page of A4 Arial font in size 12

Topics: Any HIV pharmacy related topic that is considered as study based, audit based, research based, treatment or management based, for pharmacists or technicians. If submission is made from a non-nhs source, the content must not promote a drug or treatment strategy. Deadline: Abstracts must be submitted by Tuesday 23 rd May 2018 Submission: Abstract to be sent as MS Word document electronically, by email, to: hivpaoffice@gmail.com Content: Abstracts may be based on audit or trials, and layout should follow or include the standard paragraph headings required by national or international meetings Notification: Lead author will be notified of acceptance or rejection by Wednesday 31 st May 2018 by email History: Poster may be submitted even if previously accepted at other meetings. Posters are also accepted from sponsors but will be displayed clearly indicating its source. Poster Boards: Poster boards will be available at the conference, portrait orientation Size/ Layout: Posters are to printed/produced up to a maximum of 700mm wide by 1200mm in height; overall size to fit one poster board per entry. All data to be shown on a single poster or as a series of information presented on A0 size. Adjudication: All posters accepted will be judged and a winning poster will be awarded a monetary prize. The abstract will be assessed on: Overall presentation; clarity of content; scientific rigour of content and relevance to clinical pharmacy or technical quality Author: It is preferred, but not a requirement that the lead author, or one of the co-authors is present as a delegate at the conference The decision of the HIV Pharmacy Association Committee adjudicating panel is final.
