Change of Pick Up Arrangements Please only change student pick up arrangements in emergencies. If you are running late and unable to be at your usual meeting place, your child is to go to the school office and wait for you. Please make your child aware of this procedure to avoid worry and confusion. If another parent is to collect your child, please make sure a meeting place has been arranged. If you are concerned about a student waiting to be collected after school, please ensure the student goes to the school office rather than taking them home yourself. If you are required to sign out another student early, you must have written parental permission to do so. Thankyou for your cooperation in these matters. Rugby League News Congratulations to Mr Griggs and the Sutherland/Engadine Hammerheads Zone Rugby League Opens team who were successful in winning the Robert Stone Shield for 2018. The team went through the day undefeated and were comfortable victors in the final. Congratulations are also extended to Kobe W who was successful in making the Under 11 s Sydney East Rugby League team. He will now head to the state carnival in Cudgen later in the year. Blake W and Lewis H were also chosen in the Opens train on squad where they will return for a further trial to show off their skills, in aim of making the Opens Sydney East team. Well done to all who participated on the day! Coles Sports for Schools Engadine West PS has registered for the Coles Sports for Schools program. The race for Sports for Schools vouchers has begun! The vouchers will go towards the purchase of sports gear for students to use at the school. For every $10 spent at any Coles supermarket, customers will receive one Sports for Schools voucher. We are asking all families and friends to start collecting and send their vouchers to the collection bins located in the school office foyer or directly in the bin provided for Engadine West PS in Coles Engadine. Thankyou for supporting our school! Good Health and Hygiene It is a good idea that children establish healthy hygiene habits. Liquid soap dispensers are provided in the toilets and students should establish good routines about regularly using the toilets and washing hands. Another important matter for students is keeping hair tidy and clean. Parents/carers are asked to make regular checks for head lice and apply appropriate treatment. Long hair should be neatly tied back off the face with green or gold hair accessories or plain bands.

Stewart House Clothing Appeal 2018 It is now 87 years since Stewart House opened its doors to provide public school children with a break from their current circumstance. The reasons individual children are chosen to attend the program are many and varied and the demand for services provided by Stewart House still remain strong. Engadine West PS will be collecting clothing for the Stewart House Clothing Appeal 2018 conducted by the Smith Family. Stewart House clothing collections are a major part of their annual income and we are very pleased to be able to support this worthwhile charity once again. Stewart House clothing bags have been sent home (additional bags available from the school office). Please donate good quality, wearable clothing and return bags to the basement for collection by Wednesday 4 April 2018. Thankyou for supporting Stewart House.
