Core 40 Requirements Language Arts-8 credits Math-6-8 credits (Alg I or above) must take a math or quantitative reasoning course each year of high school Social Studies-6 credits (US History, Gov/Econ and W Geo OR W History) Science-6 credits (must include Biology I, and Chemistry I or Integrated Chem/Phy or Physics) Health- 1 credit PE- 2 credits

What is Quantitative Reasoning? All Algebra I and above math classes Principles of Engineering Chemistry I AP Chemistry II

C40-Academic Honors Must complete 47 credits No grade lower than a C in every class that will count toward the diploma Must have an overall GPA of a B or above
Core 40 with Academic Honors Diploma Requirements AND Complete one of the following: Four credits in 2 or more AP courses and take AP exams Earn 6 verifiable transcripted college credits in dual credit courses from the priority course list Two credits in AP courses and AP exam and 3 dual credits as listed above 1750 score -combined SAT math, critical reading, writing and a minimum score of 530 on each 26 composite on ACT and complete the written section
C40-AH vs Core 40 C40-AH requires 47 credits Will get 100% tuition based on state financial need guidelines. Special seal on diploma. Only requires 41 credits Approximately 90% of tuition based on state financial need guidelines Special seal on diploma.
Core 40 w/ Technical Honors Diploma Complete all requirements for Core 40, and Earn grade of C or above in courses that count toward the diploma, and Have a GPA of B or above, and Earn 6 credits in the college and career prep courses in a state approved College & Career Pathway and one of the following: Pathway designated industry-based certification or credential OR Pathway dual credits from the priority course list = 6 transcripted college credits
Core 40 with Technical Honors Diploma Requirements Complete one of the following Any one of the A-E options for C40 w/ah Earn the following scores on WorkKeys: Reading (6); App Math (6), Locating Info (5) Earn the following on the Accuplacer: Writing (80), Reading (90), Math (75) Earn the following on the Compass: Algebra (66), Writing (70), Reading (80)
Foreign Language Required for C40-AH Not required for Core 40 (may take all fine arts or career/technical) Some colleges require (example- Purdue) Check with the college to see if it is required or not.

What if you are in Algebra I now as an 8 th grader? You must take the ECA this year. You must take a math class or quantitative reasoning class every year of high school. If you are not making an A or B, you should opt to retake next year If we get ECA results back and you did not pass, you will need to retake Algebra I (all year).
21 st Century Scholar Program If a student signs up and qualifies, this program may pay 100% of public college tuition in Indiana Can only sign up in 7 th or 8 th grade Student must graduate with at least a 2.5 GPA in high school Student must remain drug, alcohol and crime free. Means testing upon entering college. Must participate in college success program.

7 Semester Graduation A student can graduate in 7 semesters (in December of the senior year). If a student wants to do this he/she should plan carefully, beginning with the freshmen year.
Summer School Health (a great way to get this class out of the way) Physical Education- get one semester of PE out of the way SAE- Supervised Ag Experience Come all day for 19 days and get one semester of PE and your Health completed to open up time for additional courses. Date: June 3-27 Cost: $15 per class

Helpful Hints for High School Keep track of your awards, club participation, etc-you will need this information when you are a senior for scholarship applications Work hard in your classes. One F can be very damaging to a GPA. Ask for help if you need it! Plan ahead.
