Narayanan Auditorium, DIPSAR, New Delhi. The emphasis of the symposium will be on topics related to Pharmacovigilance and Pharmacoeconomics. More than 400 scientists/professionals from academia, industry and regulatory bodies from all over the country, as well as from abroad, will participate in the meeting and deliberate upon the most important issues like Signal Detection, Causality Assessment, Pharmacovigilance Program of India with reference to National Program, Herbovigilance, Value Based Pricing New Trend in HTA, Real World Evidence & its Importance for Regulations, Statistical Considerations in Health Economics and Evaluations, and many more related topics. For the first time, the international conference and pre-conference workshop of this magnitude is being organized. The theme of the three-day fiesta has been thought out and carefully chartered by the biggest players and contributors in the field of Pharmacovigilance and Pharmacoeconomics, namely- Delhi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research (DIPSAR), Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research-India chapter, Society for Pharmacovigilance India, Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) that have been brought together under the umbrella of Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University (DPSRU), for the benefit of students, industry academia and regulatory bodies. DIPSAR has strong legacy of 54 years. It started as the college of pharmacy in 1964, upgraded to research institute in 2004, (Delhi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences & Research) and has got the status of the constituent college of the Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University. The DIPSAR is renowned as center of excellence for research, and identified as one of the first QIP centers of All Indian council for Technical Education since 1998. In 2017-18, DIPSAR conducted four QIP programs and is now the nodal center for QIP for AICTE. The Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University (DPSRU) is marching into its third year of existence and a vibrancy is being felt in the campus that witnessed several conferences including the International conference on herbal drugs, that was inaugurated by Hon. Chancellor & Lt. Governor Shri Anil Baijal. It recently conducted 4 workshops, 3 seminars and 17 guest lectures that provided an environment of interactive learning to the students. The university also has an incubator center with e-cell. The Incubation center of DPSRU Innovation and Incubation Foundation was inaugurated by Dy CM Shri Manish Sisodia. The Society for Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research-India chapter has globally provided a platform and making efforts to bring together Indian researchers, healthcare practitioners, decision makers and members of pharmaceutical industry, healthcare organizations and academia. It is a resource at a local level for the individuals including students interested in Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes research. The Society for Pharmacovigilance India has a well-defined objective to foster science and learning in pharmacovigilance all over India. The nature of the global pharmacovigilance landscape and societal context has been rapidly changing in recent years, and is still changing. The SoPI believes in constantly evolving to reflect this wider scope as part of its own aims. The scope of pharmacovigilance expands to include any area that contributes better knowledge and understanding regarding the safe and effective use of medicines, at pre- and post-marketing stage. The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC), is an autonomous institution of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, that has been entrusted with the responsibility to coordinate with the different stakeholders at national and international level with the sole objective to improve the safety of Indian patients by monitoring, recording and analyzing the root cause of adverse events or risks associated with use of drugs. It is also entrusted with the job of making recommendations to the regulatory bodies for appropriate action with a sole intention of improving patient safety.
