MSM SPORT TERM 1, WEEK 1 In this edition: Swimming Carnival & Training Water Polo - BWPI Cross Country CaSSSA Sport Term 1 Trials Welcome to another MSM Sporting Year. As always the year commences with a bang with the College Swimming Carnival, water polo games recommencing, tennis, AFL, cricket & volleyball trials and training for the College Cross Country. Whilst every effort is made to ensure correct dates are published in the college calendar, changes are sometimes required to be made. These changes will be communicated both via the Spirit and through Student Notices and a weekly MSM Sport email to students. Swimming Training Swimming training is again in full swing in preparation for the CaSSSA Swimming Cup Carnival on Monday 14 th March. All students wishing to be part of the swim team should be training a minimum of 3 times per week (outside squad training permitted). A full list of Friday night swim meets are included in the swimming handbook. College Swimming Carnival The 2016 MSM Swimming Carnival will be held on Wednesday 3 rd February at the Valley Pool. Parents are most welcome to attend to watch their daughter compete. A copy of the timetable of events will be available on the College website. Carnival nominations for all age groups will take place on Thursday 28 th January from 12.20 to 12.45pm (before lunch). Met North Trial notices see Page 3

Cross Country Training Training for the 2016 Cross Country season will begin on Tuesday 2 nd February. All students are welcome to attend training until the College Carnival on March 23 rd when a squad will be selected to train for the CaSSSA Cross Country Cup Interschool Carnival on the 26 th May. Coaches assisting Eric Brown this year will be Cameron Crowley, Hannah Murphy and Perri Newman. Cross Country: Tuesday and Thursday mornings 6.30am to 8.00am starting from the Sophia Centre Fitness group training: Tuesday and Thursday afternoons 3.15pm to 4.30pm in the Sophia Centre
