We are currently investing in some new Nature Play equipment which is being installed in the senior area playground. This project has been made possible via a $25000 grant from the Department of Education and additional funds from our school and West Coast Language Development Centre. The equipment is currently being installed and, weather permitting, students should have access to it in the very near future. The second project will see every classroom receive a 75 inch LCD interactive panel. These panels will replace the existing interactive whiteboards and have the added benefit of being mobile. One panel is currently on trial in classes and the response from both staff and students has been very positive. SEMESTER ONE REPORTS Teachers are currently preparing students semester 1 reports. These will be distributed to students on Tuesday 26 th June (Week 10). I would like to advise parents of the following in relation to teacher comments on reports: teachers in all year levels (PP Yr 6) will provide a comment for English and Mathematics as well as an overall comment; Students in Years 1-2 will also receive a comment in Music and Visual Arts. Students in Years 3-6 will receive comments in Phys Ed and Japanese. The reverse of this will occur in semester 2; Teachers will be reporting on Physical Science (Science) and History (Humanities and Social Sciences) in semester 1 but students will not receive a comment for these areas. STUDENTS ON SCHOOL GROUNDS Parents are reminded that students are not permitted on school grounds outside of normal school hours unless they have the express permission of the Principal. As a result of some recent inappropriate after-hours activity I have asked the Police and Education Security to monitor the school grounds for intruders. Where students are identified and have engaged in anti-social behaviour or damaged school property, I will consider reporting the matter directly to the Police. Principal Neil Wood
