Gentry Junior School students work on a vocabulary building activity. Teachers at Sterling High School engaged in a collaborative discussion activity to reinforce the ELPS to better support English Language Learners on their campus. ELPS training facilitated by Migdalia Treviño. SI Teacher at Cedar Bayou integrates writing activities to increase language development.

MY NAME IS JOSEPH RODRIGUEZ AND I AM THE SECONDARY ESL INSTRUCTIONAL SPECIALIST FOR THE GCM FEEDER PATTERN. Ms. Martha Pacheco, 3 th grade bilingual teacher at Bañuelos Elementary, establishes a successful guided reading and workstation in order to move students toward becoming proficient and lifelong readers. Ms. Araceli Anguiano, 4 th grade bilingual teacher at Bañuelos Elementary, provides additional support to her students through guided math. Teachers at Highlands Junior School utilize content and language objectives in the classroom or interactive exit ticket strategy to informally assess learning by posing the question at the end of the period What Stuck with You? Newcomer Academy for Students at Peter Hyland Ms. Berenize Moreno, 2 th grade bilingual teacher at Walker Elementary, sets a purpose for writing by allowing students to share their writing. Teachers at the Newcomer Academy integrate technology to assist in English language development. GCM Elementary and ESL Instructional Specialist collaboratively facilitate an ESL TExES Review Session to prepare teachers for the ESL certification test. Teachers are involved in a reflection activity about the domains within the ESL TExES exam.

My name is Susie Castro and I am excited to join Goose Creek CISD this year. I will be supporting the LEE Feeder pattern. I am looking forward to a great year! Hello, everyone! My name is Jennifer Fierro and I am the ESL Instructional Specialist for the LEE Feeder pattern. I am proud to support Baytown Junior School, Horace Mann Jr. School, and Lee High School. I look forward to working with each of these campuses to provide ELL instructional support. Students at Horace Mann Jr. High School use the Journeys Reading program to collaboratively read, write, speak, and listen.
