Though required in every organization, it is of great importance for preparing teachers who are the beacon of light for the coming generations. These programmes help in updating the knowledge of teachers regarding technological advancements and the new management philosophies have now made it imperative for the organizations to renew and update the knowledge and skills of the stakeholders. Another important advantage of such programmes is avoiding professional obsolescence in the highly competitive environment. Process of development is a continuous process and should encompass the entire professional career. Such programmes are further a vehicle for attitudinal change which can be brought in by ensuring that such programmes are designed and delivered in an optimal manner. Such programmes also act as deficiency improver as it helps individual faculty member in improving functional deficiencies. Such programmes are also a self development process because many things can be learnt through action learning methods, sharing the experiences of each other in a simulated classroom atmosphere. Finally, such programmes act as a stimulant to higher competence because participants are exposed to the intricacies of professional stress and strain. What if not IIM-B School Survey 2012 by SiliconIndia This view is primarily indented to evaluate best non- IIMs Business Schools in India. It is a unique observation, unlike other surveys which keep featuring IIMs amongst top rating Business Schools. According to B-School survey 2012, nearly 2 lakhs aspirants wrote CAT in 2011 and only a hand few of them made it to IIMs. This survey is done to help students who didn t make it to IIMs or to students who are considering a management degree from other reputed Institutions. Samalkha Group of Institutions (SGI) has been awarded: A) 6 th Rank among Top B-School in North Zone, B) 9 th All India Rank in Placements, C) 24 th All India Ranking. MAKING THE Right Choice: The Pioneer, New Delhi, 14 th December 2011 The last few years have seen the emergence of some very good B-Schools in the private sector as well in the Universities. Sometimes back, an MBA degree from the IIM was the dream of every aspirant but with the emergence of several private B-Schools, the scenario has undergone a paradigm shift. Experts feel this is a healthy trend and has opened new avenues for students. One needs to look at it from a different angle, it s like any product. The Market gets segmented according to what you need and each business serves a specific need and also has different outlooks. The rise in the number of B-Schools in the country is a bad thing. There are however many things to consider before choosing B.School like Approval, Faculty, Placement Records and Arrangement of Summer Internship by the Institute. Based on the All India survey conducted, The Pioneer has Awarded SGI the 33 rd Rank amongst India s Top Private B- Schools.
