What s next By April 30, you will receive a letter with your child s recommended placement for 6 th grade. This letter will include the middle and high school course sequence for your child.
What s next If your child is placed in Math 6/7 Honors, information on additional accelerated placement testing will be included. Students do not need to take this test to be placed in Math 6/7 Honors. A test is offered to students placed in honors if they feel that they have learned all of the 6 th grade and half of the 7 th grade content already. Those students can test out of Math 6/7.
Opportunities for moving to the Honors Path after 6 th grade: In the spring of 6 th grade students can take the Bridge test to test out of the 7 th grade content taught in Math 6/7 Summer Honors Academy- The Bridge class where students will have the opportunity to learn the 7 th grade content from Math 6/7 and then take the Bridge test to move to Math 7/8. Math 8 can be taken the summer before 8 th grade. Other opportunities in high school i.e. doubling up on classes SHA students must meet prerequisites to apply and attend and must meet course completion requirements. Enrollment is limited
