ARLINGTON HIGH ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE STEM: STEM Education is a new program of study designed for students interested in the exciting careers available in the high-demand fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. This program of study is uniquely structured to offer students an overview of STEM fields, occupations, and applications and to prepare them to pursue advanced study in the STEM field of their choice at a variety of postsecondary institutions. Arlington Scholars Program: The Arlington Scholars Program is designed for students who are passionate about learning. The ASP challenges the intellect and cultivates the talents, interests, and scholastic aptitude of exceptional, highly motivated students. Opportunities are offered for students to excel in a rigorous academic program culminating in a minimum of eighteen hours of Honors/AP/Dual Enrollment courses. Leadership skills and personal growth are also cultivated through community, school, and elective service projects. Anita Norman Poetry Out Loud National Champion AHS Class of 2015 ARLINGTON HIGH ACCOMPLISHMENTS AHS Band: The AHS Band consistently receives superior ratings in all areas of performance, including concert, marching, jazz, indoor drumline, and indoor guard. Approximately 1/5 of the All-State band is composed of AHS students. AHS Choir: There are more AHS students in the All-State Choir than any other West Tennessee school. They were Grand Champions at Festival Disney in 2011 and 2012. AHS Orchestra: For three consecutive years, the AHS Orchestra received superior ratings in every local, state, and national competition. Fine Arts: Twenty-one art students were recognized at the 2014 Scholastic Regional Art Competition. Cosmetology: For two consecutive years, an AHS student won the Regional Skills USA competition.
