The Committee on Ministry will propose clergy classifications for 2015. We will vote on the proposed changes to the Book of Confessions and the Book of Order. We will vote on a budget for 2015. A recommendation for ensuing parity between Ruling Elder and Teaching Elders at Presbytery Meetings. 2. The Presbytery of Santa Barbara Comparative Statistics 2014. Report of: Committee on Ministry 1. Clergy Classification List with recommendations, to be sent at a later mailing. Report of: Property & Finance Committee At its December 13, 2104 meeting the following business was enacted: 1. It was voted to add Deborah Kehle and Sandra Thoits as signers on Rabobank and Union Bank accounts. 2. Meeting as University Ministry Board it was voted to add Deborah Kehle and Sandra Thoits as signers on the Wells Fargo Bank Accounts. At its February 6, 2015 meeting the following business was enacted. 1. It was MSC to propose a reduction of 2015 budget for personnel expenses, only, by a minimum of $118,000. Report of: Committee on Preparation for Ministry 1. It was MSC to enroll David Anderson, CLP (Emmanuel, Thousand Oaks) as an inquirer. Report of: Presbytery Council Since the last meeting of Presbytery the Council has taken the following actions: Received the resignation of Bonnie Boe as director of the Lay Leader Training program. Began considering proposed changes to the Presbytery Standing Rule which will be brought to Presbytery at the May 16 meeting for a first reading. 4
Considered the budget for the remainder of 2015. Property and Finance presented a recommendation for a budget for the remainder of 2015 reflecting a cut of at least $118,000 from the personnel budget with the decisions to be made by Personnel. This is based on a projection of $245,000 from ministry share, no spending of reserves, and no reduction in the mission budget. The Council decided to come to the Presbytery with two options -- the Property and Finance proposal; the other is a "soft landing" using PRT money. Approved both Highlands and Mission Street to begin the process of chartering. Received a letter from the Session of El Montecito Presbyterian Church requesting the beginning of the discernment process and named a Presbytery Response Team as indicated in our Gracious Dismissal guidelines. The next Presbytery Council meeting is scheduled for 4/29/15 at 10:00am.
