About the Center:- YASHADA S Dr. Ambedkar Competitive Examination Center (ACEC), Coming together is Beginning keeping together is Progress Working together is Success Dr. Ambedkar Competitive Examination Center (ACEC) was set up at YASHADA, in Pune under the Special Component Plan (SCP) and started functioning with Center for Equity and Social Justice, YASHADA in May 2006, for giving Civil Services Examination coaching to candidates from weaker section of the society. In 2010, State Minority Commission & Minority Development Section, GoM has approved 10 seats for the Candidates of the Minority Community. ACEC aims at tapping the talent in students, encouraging them to appear for Civil Services Examination and helping them to prepare for the examination. It also aims at inculcating in them the culture of serving the community as a whole. Objectives: To create awareness among the youth of Maharashtra particularly from the deprived sections, about aims and objectives, procedures and relative advantages of various competitive examinations particularly Civil Services Examinations. To inculcate in them the culture of serving the community and the nation. To plan and conduct coaching and training programmes for successful participation in competitive examination. To muster support for conduct of coaching from eminent administrators, academicians and professional experts from management, training and research institutions.
Selection of Candidates: Applications will be invited through an advertisement in news paper & on website in August. State level entrance test is being conducted in the month of October / November, every year. Candidates are being selected on the basis of Merit of an entrance test. If required, Group Discussion/ Personal interviews are also being conducted. Bill) & refundable Deposit. Only Cheque (in the name of Hon. Director General, YASHADA, Pune will be accepted. An undertaking at the time of Admission regarding Rules, regulations & Discipline on Bond Paper of Rs. 200/- is to be given to the Center. original documents during Admission. Coaching: A professional approach has been taken while providing coaching to the candidates. Highly knowledgeable and experienced Resource Persons for Optional subjects and General Studies are being engaged. In addition, newly selected IAS, IPS, IRS Officers are being engaged as guest faculty for orientation and coaching of the candidates. Eminent guest speakers are being called to deliver the lectures to conduct workshops. Important information about civil services examination: The UPSC examination is conducted in Three Stages i) Preliminary Examination (Screening Test) - May ii) Main Examination - October iii) Interview - Sometime in April / May The Advertisement is published in Employment News and Rojgaar Samachar in January Candidates are advised to visit website of the UPSC ( www. upsc.gov.in) I. PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION: An objective type examination consists of two compulsory papers. Paper I General Studies - 200 Marks Paper-II CSAT - 200 Marks II. MAIN EXAMINATION: It is descriptive examination which consists of nine papers of conventional essay type. COMPULSORY PAPERS Paper - I One of the Indian Languages - 300 Marks (to be selected by the candidate from the languages included in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution) Paper II English - 300 Marks These two papers are of qualifying nature and marks obtained in these papers are not counted for merit. Eligibility Conditions: Minimum Educational Qualifications: Graduate in any faculty from recognized University Age Limit: A candidate must have attained the age of 21 yrs. and must not have attained the age of 30 yrs. as on 1 st August of the relevant year. Relaxation in age limit 5 years to SC/ST 3 years to OBC 10 years incase of Blind, Deaf- Mute Orthopadically handicap person Number of Attempts: Maximum 4 attempts for candidates from General Category SC/ST: NO limit if otherwise eligible.
