Mrs. Lalanne has been with us for the past four years. Her service to our SPX community has been exemplary. She is highly respected by her colleagues and her students describe her as nice, smart, caring and faithful. We are all very proud of Mrs. Lalanne and are blessed that she chooses SPX as her work family. In addition, I would like to commend 7 th grader, Jessie Ruby, for her hard work and determination in receiving Honorable Mention for the TriCore Foundation Short Story Writing Contest. Jessie will receive a $100.00 cash reward. Congratulations, Jessie! As a reminder, our new uniform company is Academic Outfitters. They are located in Plano and are diligently working on getting our uniforms prepared for the new school year. Uniform purchases will be ready by early June. Last, thank you all who sent cards, sentiments and gift for Principal s Day. I am touched and truly honored to serve the SPX Community. Discover your hidden treasures May 4, 2018 Rosary Club with Mrs. Merkel The Rosary Club had their last meeting on Friday, May 4 th. They celebrated with lots of good food and drinks! This year 36 students signed up for the club. The club was VERY productive as the club made 243 rosaries for the CCD faith formation students, 50 for the BL students that went to Costa Rica, 84 that were placed at the back of the Church for anyone to take, and 80 for the BL students that will go to Nicaragua. That is a total of 457 rosaries!!! In the three years that the club has been in existence they have created 1070 rosaries!!!! WOW!!! Mrs. Merkel wants to thanks all those students that come to every meeting as they are truly practicing their Catholic faith by sharing their love of the rosary with others! 5

As always, to remain an active volunteer an annual training is required please use this link to update your training on-line; note this link is for current/active volunteers only: http://dallas.setanet.org/obligations.php. New Volunteer Trainings are listed below the on-line screening form must be submitted prior to attending the training, use this link to complete the form: http://dallas.setanet.org/index.php Safe Environment Training in English Family of Faith (New Volunteer Training) * ONE option: May 17, 2018 Media Center English: (i.e. School Parents, Lectors, Eucharistic Ministers, Ministry Leadership, and Ushers etc.) 6:30pm Interviews and photo IDs taken; followed by the safe environment training.
