The weeks have flown by and the students have been involved in various learning educational experiences that were wide and varied. From the excitement of our very first day, the fun filled learning that took place in our classrooms, the successful College visit to the Camden Show, through to the action packed week of Celebration, it has been a very busy and productive first term at the College. Our Celebration week just gone involved many family based activities. Our first Family service, a wonderful community building experience. Our first Mufti Day, which all the students and staff enjoyed immensely. As well as the Easter Hat parade and Easter Egg hunt, which was enjoyed enormously by the students and will see many of the staff have to undertake further exercise programs to work off all that chocolate. However, the week was highlighted by the College s Official Opening on Wednesday 4 th April. A wonderful event marking a wonderful achievement. We were so humbled by those willing to share this auspicious occasion with us and thank the Lord for the vision of the many that saw the College come to realisation. We specifically thank Dr Peter Jensen, Archbishop of Sydney and Mr Tony Perich, Founding Director of Greenfields Development for their opening of the College as well as the number of other dignataries that made the occasion such a special one. Special thanks also to those parents who were able to come and celebrate with us and we re sure that they, like us, would feel that the highpoint of the event was when the Oran Park Anglican College Choir, also known as the whole College, performed. We could not have been prouder. Rumours are that there was also the glint of a tear in Mr Beggs eye, but that has yet to be confirmed! Of course, the end of this Term brings to the fore the Easter weekend. This weekend continues our theme of Celebration for, although a terrible event, Jesus actual death on the cross, we can be comforted and find strength in the fact that on the third day he rose again and is now seated at the right hand of God, our Father. The passage that is one of the most encouraging at this time can be found in the book of Ephesians. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God s grace Ephesians 1:7 TNIV We wish you all a Safe, Happy and Holy Easter.
