Corona del Sol is one of the select few schools in the state that offer the AP Capstone program for students seeking true rigor and university experiences. AP Capstone is an innovative diploma program that helps students stand out in the college admission process with special distinction. Students develop the critical skills needed to succeed in college and in life. The program equips students with the independent research, collaborative teamwork, and communication skills that are increasingly valued by colleges. Juniors take AP Seminar, which focuses on intellectual inquiry and research techniques, with team and individual essays and presentations. Seniors take AP Research, in which they pursue independent, in-depth research and composition regarding an interdisciplinary topic of their interest, with full-length paper, presentation, and oral defense. Diploma requirements: complete the two Capstone courses alone with four additional AP courses, earning scores of three or higher on these AP exams.
