Bowbrook News 14 th December 2016: Final Assembly: A summary of the week just gone and the term just gone and a chance for pupils to reflect on how they have done, what has gone well and what could go better! If receiving a report reflect on the comments therein, the effort grades and the pluses totals as well as on the teacher s comments. An average total this term would be something in the region of 50 pluses for the term how do you compare? Over this first term we, as a staff have issued 9432 Pluses and 29 order marks again useful to reflect on how you have done personally. I will wish you all a peaceful Christmas and an enjoyable new year and see you all again with a fresh start in 2017! S11 and staff are back to school on Tuesday and Wednesday the 3rd & 4th of January. School re-starts for all on Thursday 5th January. There were 68 pupils who received a certificate for their 100% attendance this term. Congratulations to them. Year 3 were officially the healthiest with the greatest percentage of the class managing every day this term. The Carol Service was rightly praised and acknowledged in assembly: Music Colours awarded to: Lewis Edwards, Hayden Philips, Henry Rowling, Jack Bodycote and Louis Tunnell. Choir Colours were awarded to: Olivia France, Emily Power, Bethany Rose, Abigail Land, Grace Caldwell Townsend, Finlay Hennigan and Hannah Segar. All in the Elite Choir were praised as were Neo Taylor, Rory Woof, Daniel Fellows, Lucy Hughes-Witney, Abbie Donnelly, Rebecca Street and Seb Banfield for their part in the concert. My congratulations and my thanks to all who took part and to all who made it such a wonderful occasion. Well done. Sport: Rugby Colours were awarded to: Alex Whitehead, Freddie Howland, Rory Woof, Nick Jones, Chalie Siviter, Lewis Edwards, Charlie Lewis and Guy Anderson. Football Colours were awarded to: Nick Jones, Guy Anderson and Charlie Siviter. Swimming Colours went to our National swimmers: Jacob Elliott and Guy Anderson. Hockey Colours were awarded to: Lois Allart, Evie Blackshaw, Isabelle Hill, Charlie Travers and Ellie Wilson. The House Tug of War by Hastings. The House Cross Country was won by Hastings too, details below in the PE report section. Christmas fayre - just above 1,700 which is a marvellous total and thank you to all who helped, donated and attended! It was a lovely night and good fun.
Music News: Well, what can I say after weeks of rehearsals last night s Carol Service was fab! There were some real enthusiastic, energetic and smiling faces which was lovely to see (and that was just in the congregation!) I will definitely be singing our Christmas medley all over the festive period.
