Crossroads Alternative Education Center School Accountability Report Card Reported Using Data from the 2016-17 School Year Published During 2017-18 By February 1 of each year, every school in California is required by state law to publish a School Accountability Report Card (SARC). The SARC contains information about the condition and performance of each California public school. Under the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) all local educational agencies (LEAs) are required to prepare a Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP), which describes how they intend to meet annual school-specific goals for all pupils, with specific activities to address state and local priorities. Additionally, data reported in an LCAP is to be consistent with data reported in the SARC. Independent Study provides families with the option of attending a session one hour, one day a week, and completing work independently at home. Procedures for student sign in are wellestablished. As a result, despite the short amount of time each student attends a session clear documentation shows who is or was on site each day. A back gate was made in the fence between Crossroads and R.M. Miano Elementary School for additional options should emergency evacuation be required out the back door of the Center. Emergency exit routes are posted in each cubicle and at the front and back door of the classrooms. In June of each year the Safety Plan is reviewed and any necessary changes or updates are made. The Safety Plan is shared with all staff at the Welcome Back staff meeting on the first day of school. Types of Services Funded (Fiscal Year 2016-17) Crossroads provides Independent Study services to all students. Additionally, students needing special education services, counseling services, or health services are provided those through district programs provided through the district special serviced office. Students needing credit or course recovery at the high school level are provided those services through either traditional or virtual independent study.
