Introduction This resource book of questions has been prepared for students of HSC Personal Development, Health and Physical Education. Some questions in this book ask for a recall of information while others require the application of knowledge. Many of the questions require that a certain number of answers are given (for example, two reasons, four factors, etc.). Where there are more possibilities than this specified number, some of these have been included in the answer section. However, it must be stressed that there may be other acceptable answers which are not presented. Please note that every effort has been made to ensure the accuracy of answers, but should a reader find any inaccuracy, Cambridge University Press would be grateful for information on the matter. In preparing for an examination, practice in answering questions must be regarded as a vital part of the process. This book provides the opportunity for students to develop their understanding of a topic through the answering of questions and therefore, it is an important tool for use throughout the year and for the final weeks of preparation before the exam. A condensed version of the Study Cards is available in the back of the book. Students can access the full version online, available at www.cambridge.edu.au/checkpoints. Good luck! Acknowledgements Some questions in this book have been reproduced with the permission of the NSW Board of Studies. This is indicated at the end of the questions throughout the text. Our thanks are extended to the teachers and students of HSC Personal Development, Health and Physical Education who have offered advice and feedback on the questions and answers presented in this book.
