KURUKSHETRA UNIVERSITY KURUKSHETRA (Established by the State Legislature Act XII of 1956) ( A Grade, NAAC Accredited) Agenda for the meeting of the Academic Council of the Kurukshetra University to be held on Thursday, the 10 th December, 2015 at 3.00 p.m. in the Senate Hall, Bhagvadgita Sadan, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. 1. To confirm the minutes of the last meeting of the Academic Council held on 15.04.2015; and to note the follow up action as per Annexure pages 1(1-4). 1

2. To consider the action taken by the Vice-Chancellor in approving recommendations of the Committee dated 8.5.2014 constituted by the Academic Council vide its Res. No. 13 dated 21.04.2014 for inclusion of Environmental Science Subject in B.Sc. Non-Medical Stream under Group-II w.e.f. the session 2014-15, as under:- Non-Medical Stream Mathematics and two subjects from Group I to Group III, selecting any one subject from a given group Group-I Group-II Group-III Physics Electronics Computer Science Geology Instrumentation Computer Applications Geography Information Technology Statistics Chemistry Electronics Equipment Industrial Chemistry Maintenance Computer Maintenance Environmental Science STATEMENT OF THE CASE: While approving grouping of subjects in B.A. (General) and B.Sc. (General) Courses under annual and semester system, some of the members of the Academic Council in its meeting held on 21.04.2014 pointed out that while grouping of subjects, some allied subjects have been put in the same group. The Vice-Chancellor assured the house that the academics should not suffer in lieu of reducing the examination days. Thereupon, the Academic Council vide its Res. No. 13 dated 21.04.2014 resolved further that the Dean Academic Affairs and the Dean Faculty of Life Sciences will look into the matter. Accordingly, the Committee in its meeting held on 8.05.2014 unanimously recommended the above. Since these recommendations were to be implemented w.e.f. the session 2014-15 and the meeting of the Academic Council was not being held shortly, the Vice-Chancellor took the above action. 3. To consider the action taken by the Vice-Chancellor in anticipation of approval of the Academic Council, in approving the Minutes of the Equivalence Committee meeting held on 30.04.2015 as per Annexur Pages 3(1-5). (Ref:ACM-II) 3

4. To consider the action taken by the Vice-Chancellor in anticipation of the approval of the Academic Council, in allowing admission to Sh. Vipul Kaushik in MBA-III course in the Directorate of Distance Education during the Academic session 2014-15 to complete his MBA Degree, as a special case, with extra fee of Rs.5,000/- in addition to normal fee etc. for permitting him extension of one year period beyond 6 years which is the stipulated period for passing MBA Degree course. STATEMENT OF THE CASE: As per Clause 8 of the Ordinance for MBA Examination, (Annual) appearing at page (522-23) of K.U. Cal. Vol.II, 2014, a candidate is required to complete/pass the examination within six years of his/her admission to the course failing which he/she will be required to repeat the course de-novo. The above candidate took admission in MBA-Ist in the Directorate of Distance Education in the session 2006-07 and was required to pass the course within six years i.e. upto May/June, 2011-12. But he failed to do so. Now he has requested to allow him to take admission in MBA-III in the Directorate of Distance Education to complete his MBA Degree course during the session 2014-15. He is ready to pay extra fees which will be imposed by the Academic Council. Recently, the Academic Council vide its Res. No. 2 and 7 dated 15.04.2015 has allowed Mr. Anil Malik and Mr. Pankaj respectively to complete their MBA Degree course as a special case, with extra fee of Rs.5,000/- each in addition to normal fee/dues for permitting them extension of one year period beyond six years which is the stipulated period for passing MBA Degree course. Hence the above. (Ref:DDE) 4

5. To consider the action taken by the Vice-Chancellor in anticipation of the approval of the Academic Council/Executive Council in approving amendments/additions to Clause 3 of the Ordinance for M.P.Ed. and Clause 4 of the Ordinance for B.P.Ed. Examinations, w.e.f. the session 2015-16 as per Annexure Pages 5(1-4). STATEMENT OF THE CASE: The above amendments/additions have been made on the recommendations of the Staff Council of the Department of Physical Education in its meeting held on 08.05.2015, keeping the new norms/guidelines of the NCTE, 2014. Since meeting of the Academic Council was not being held shortly and change in the minimum eligibility conditions of the above said courses were to be implemented w.e.f. the session 2015-16, the Vice-Chancellor took the above action. (Ref:ACR-I) 5

6. To consider the recommendations of the Director General, Higher Education, Haryana, Panchkula regarding reinstating Sh. Raghubir Singh Goyat and Sh. Mahesh Kumar who were earlier debarred permanently from any University work including examinations by the Academic Council vide its Resolution No. 24 dated 23-6-2003 as per Annexure Pages 6(1). STATEMENT OF THE CASE : During the conduct of B.Ed. Entrance test which was held on 13-06-2002, news item regarding leakage of question paper was also appeared in the news paper. To find out the truth, various enquiries were conducted by the University by appointing Senior Professors as their Head. It was established by the Committees that Sh. Mahesh Kumar, Lecturer in Physical Education, C.R.M. Jat College, Hisar performed invigilation duty in that very room in which his wife taking entrance test. He was indulged in smuggling the test booklet out of the examination centre and got it solved to help his wife. In the mean-time, the Government had also enquired into the complaint at their level and the Higher Education Commissioner Haryana, Chandigarh written to the University that the following teachers be not put any examination duties as per Annexure Pages 6(2):- 1. Sh. Mahesh Kumar, Lecturer in Physical Education, C.R.M. Jat PG College, Hisar. 2. Sh. Ragubir Singh Goyat, Lecturer in Defense Studies, C.R.M. Jat PG College, Hisar. 3. Sh. L.R. Bhayana, Lecturer in Political Science, M.M. College, Fatehabad. 4. Sh. Sat Pal Kaushik, Lecturer in Govt. Senior Secondary School, Fatehabad. To find out the truth in the case, Dr. Hari Singh was also appointed as Enquiry Officer who had also reported that Sh. Mahesh Kumar was involved in the case and he had tarnished the image of University. He recommended that the teacher concerned be debarred from the examination duties. The Higher Education Commissioner Haryana, Chandigarh again written to the University that the conduct of Sh. Mahesh Kumar and Sh. R.S. Goyat came under the doubt and they may not be put on any examination duty as per Annexure Pages 6(3). Recommendations of the Higher Education Commissioner and the Enquiry Officer, Dr.Hari Singh were placed before the Academic Council held on 23-06-2003 which had debarred the teachers concerned permanently for any Examination Work. Both the teachers namely Sh.Mahesh Kumar and Sh. R.S. Goyat requested to the Vice-Chancellor that they may be reinstated for examination duties as it is stigma on their carrier which was forwarded by the concerned Principal, C.R.M. Jat College, Hisar stating that work and conduct of both the teachers have been found very satisfactory and 6

keeping this in view the case may be considered sympathetically as per Annexure Pages 6(4). As per orders of the Vice-Chancellor, their case was referred to the Director General, Higher Education, Haryana, Panchkula for consideration and orders in this regard as per Annexure Pages 6(5). On the recommendations of the Director General, Higher Education, Haryana, Panchkula, vide their letter dated 10-04-2015 as per Annexure Pages 6(6), the Vice-Chancellor has ordered to place the matter before the Academic Council to consider the recommendations of the Director General, Haryana, Panchkula for reinstating Sh.Ragubir Singh Goyat and Sh.Mahesh Kumar, Assistant Professors of C.R.M. Jat College, Hisar for performing any University work including examinations and ban imposed on them be revoked. Hence, the case for consideration. (Ref: Conduct) 7

Calendar Vol.-II, 2014 (Part-B) the Academic Council is to appoint Committees, every year, to deal with all Unfair Means Cases (UMC) detected during examinations. The Vice-Chancellor constituted the eight such Committees, Two Appellate Committees and appointed additional teachers to complete the quorum, vide his orders dated 16.7.2014, in anticipation of approval of Academic Council, to decide the case expeditiously. 8. To consider the action taken by the Vice-Chancellor in anticipation of the approval of the Academic Council/Executive Council in approving the new Ordinance for Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) Examination (Semester System), common for all the vocational streams, w.e.f. the session 2014-15, as per Annexure Pages 8(1-5). STATEMENT OF THE CASE: The University Grants Commission has launched a scheme on Skills Development Based Higher Education as part of College/University Education, leading to Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) Degree with multiple exits such as Diploma/Advanced Diploma under the NSQF, with the objectives to provide judicious mix of skills relating to a profession and appropriate content of General Education; to provide flexibility to the students by means of pre-defined entry and multiple exist points and to provide vertical mobility to students coming out of 10+2 with vocational subjects. Some of the affiliated colleges have been allowed to introduce B.Voc. Courses in their Colleges, w.e.f. the session 2014-15. The above Ordinance which is common for all vocational streams has been considered and examined by the following Committee in its meeting held on 12.05.2015: 1. Dean Academic Affairs 2. 9. To consider the action taken by the Vice-Chancellor in anticipation of approval of the Academic Council/Executive Council in allowing the introduction of One Year P.G. Diploma in Counseling, Psychotherapy and Rehabilitation w.e.f. the session 2015-16 under Self Financing Scheme as per recommendations of the Committee as per Annexure Pages 9(1). STATEMENT OF THE CASE: The Vice-Chancellor constituted a Committee to examine the proposal of the Chairperson, Department of Psychology, KUK for introduction of One Year P.G. Diploma in Counseling, and Psychotherapy w.e.f. the session 2015-16 as per Annexure Pages 9(2). The Committee considered the above proposal on 27.05.2015 where in some clarifications was sought. Therefore, the Chairperson, Department of Psychology submitted a revised proposal for introduction of One Year P.G. Diploma in Counseling, Psychotherapy and Rehabilitation w.e.f. the session 2015-16 under Self Financing Scheme with 25 intakes, with Annual Fee of Rs. 15,000/-+Examination Fee per student as per Annexure Pages 9(3-4). Following is the eligibility conditions for admission to this Course : M.A./M.Sc.(Psychology/Applied Psychology/Education/Social Work) or M.Ed. (Ref:ACM-II) 11

10. To consider/note the action taken by the Vice-Chancellor under Section 11(5) of K.U. As per Annexure Pages 10(32) Remarks The Staff Council of Dept. of Geography in its meeting held on 09.05.2015 has recommended that the practical examination in the subject of Geography of B.A./B.Sc.-I/II/III will be held in Even Semester only w.e.f. academic session 2015-16 in phased manner. There are minor changes in the scheme of examination. As no meetings of the Faculty and Academic Council were being held in near future, the Vice-Chancellor took the above action. The Staff Council of the Deptt. of Commerce has recommended the rectification in the Schemes of Examination of the above said courses w.e.f. the session 2015-16, due to typing mistake in the Schemes approved earlier vide Academic Council Res. No. 44(2) of 15.04.2015. As no meetings of the Faculty/Academic Council were going to be held shortly and the Schemes of Examination were to be implemented w.e.f. the session 2015-16, the Vice-Chancellor took the above action. The Chairman, Deptt. of Tourism & Hotel Management has informed that Scheme of Examination of MBA (Hospitality Management) two years of Directorate of Distance Education approved w.e.f. 2013-14 has a typing mistake in the Grand Total of marks. The grand total of marks was typed 1700 instead of 1800 by mistake and need to be corrected. As no meetings of the Faculty of Commerce & Management/Academic Council were not likely to be held in near future, the Vice-Chancellor approved the above in anticipation of approval of the Academic Council. The Board of Undergraduate Studies vide its Res. No. 1 of 10.07.2015 has recommended the revised Scheme of Examination for English Compulsory Semester-III of B.A. Part-II w.e.f. the session 2015-16. Since no meetings of the Faculty of Arts & Languages/Academic Council were going to be held shortly and the revised Scheme of Examination for English Compulsory Semester-III of B.A. Part-II was to be made effective w.e.f. the session 2015-16, the Vice-Chancellor took the above action. 5. The Chairperson, Deptt. of Education has informed that UG/PG Board of Studies in Education vide its Res. No. 2 has approved the Scheme and Syllabi of B.Ed. Special Education (V.I.) Two years (4 Semesters) and M.Ed. Special Education (V.I.) Two years (4 Semesters) w.e.f. 2015-16 in its meeting held on 13.05.2015. Since the meetings of the Faculty of Education/Academic Council were not going to be held in near future and the Scheme and Syllabi were to be implemented w.e.f. 2015-16, the Vice-Chancellor took the above action. Hence, the above. As no meeting of the Faculty of Commerce & Management and the Academic Council were being held shortly and the Syllabi of the above-said courses were to be implemented w.e.f the mentioned session, indicated against each as the Vice-Chancellor took the above action. Since no meetings of the Faculty of Engg. & Technology/Academic Council were going to be held shortly and the Scheme & Syllabi of above said courses were to be made effective w.e.f. 2015-16 in phased manner, the Vice-Chancellor took the above action. The Staff Council, Dept. of Home Science has recommended the scheme and syllabus of B.Sc. (Interior Design) Ist and IInd Semesters w.e.f. the session 2015-16. Since no meetings of the concerned Faculties/ Academic Council are going to be held soon but the scheme and syllabus is to be implemented w.e.f. the session 2015-16. Hence, the Vice-Chancellor took the above action. The Director, Institute of Mass Communication & Media Technology has sent a copy of the Scheme of examination and syllabus of M.Sc. (Mass Communication 3 rd & 4 th semesters and M.Sc. (Mass Communication Final Year) Students who got admission in academic session 2014-15 duly approved by the P.G. Board of Studies vide any other item No. 4(i) & (iii). Since no meeting of the Faculty of Commerce & Management and the Academic Council were being held in near future and the revised scheme and syllabi of above said course were to be implemented w.e.f. the Academic session 2015-16. The Vice-Chancellor took the above action. 15

11. To consider the action taken by the Vice-Chancellor in approving the recommendations of the Committee (as per Annexure Pages 11(1)) for entering into an MoU with Spoken Tutorial Project, IIT Bombay (as per Annexure Pages 11(2-3)) and authorizing the Dean Academic Affairs to sign the said MoU on behalf of the Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. STATEMENT OF THE CASE: The Spoken Tutorial activity is funded by the National Mission on Education through ICT, MHRD, Government of India and run out of IIT Bombay which provide an opportunity to conduct Software Training Programme free of cost to all affiliated colleges and University Teaching Departments/Institutes of Kurukshetra University. The Vice-Chancellor has appointed Prof. Rajender Nath, Chairperson, Department of Computer Science & Applications, as Coordinating Officer of this Programme. Hence the above. (Ref:ACM-II) 16

12. To consider the action taken by the Vice-Chancellor in anticipation of the approval of the Academic Council/Executive Council in approving the following amendments/additions to Clause-3 of the Ordinance Bachelor of Education appearing at page 96 of K.U. Calendar Vol.II (Part-A) of 2014 for admission to B.Ed. Part-I through Distance Mode: Existing The minimum qualifications/eligibility for admission to Part-I of the course shall be as under: (i) (ii) Bachelor/Master s Degree of a recognized University with atleast 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of SC/ST students) 2-years in service working teaching experience in any Recognized Govt.- Aided/Private School/Educational Institution in the state of Haryana Amended The minimum qualifications/eligibility for admission to Part-I of the course shall be as under: (i) Bachelor/Master s Degree from a Recognized University with atleast 50% marks in aggregate (47.5% in case of SC/ST/Blind/Physically Handicapped candidates) or 55% in case of BE/B.Tech. (52.25% in case of SC/ST/Blind/Physically Handicapped candidates) as per directions of Hon ble Supreme Court of India (ii) (iii) (iv) (v) Trained in service teachers in elementary education Candidates who have completed a NCTE Recognized teachers education Programme through face to face mode. The reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD and other categories shall be as per the rules of Haryana Govt. Only in service teachers working in any recognized Govt./Aided/Private School/Educational Institution in the state of Haryana are eligible. STATEMENT OF THE CASE: The office has received a letter from Chairperson, NCTE, New Delhi vide which they have sent revised (Recognition Norms and Procedure) Regulations, 2014 for B.Ed. course through Distance Mode (as per Annexure Pages 12(1-3)). Since the meeting of the Academic Council was not being held shortly and the above Amendments/additions were to be incorporated in the B.Ed. Prospectus 2015-16, the Vice-Chancellor took the above decision. Hence the above. (REF: DDE) 17

13. To consider the action taken by the Vice-Chancellor in approving the recommendations of the Committee (as per Annexure Pages 13(1)) for entering into an MoU with National Bureau of Animal Genetic Resources (NBAGR), Karnal (as per Annexure Pages 13(2)) for jointly undertaking the Research Program leading to the Ph.D. in the field of Animal Genetics/Genomics/Biotechnology and authorizing the Dean Academic Affairs to sign the said MoU on behalf of the Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. STATEMENT OF THE CASE: The Director, UIET requested the Vice-Chancellor to allow entering into an MoU with National Bureau of Animal Genetic Resources (NBAGR), Karnal for jointly undertaking the Research Program leading to the Ph.D. in the field of Animal Genetics/Genomics/Biotechnology. The Vice-Chancellor constituted a Committee of the following members to consider the proposal and to finalize the terms and conditions of purposed MoU:- 1. Dean Academic Affairs 2. 14. To consider:- (i) (ii) the action taken by the Vice-Chancellor in anticipation of the approval of the Academic Council/Executive Council in approving the following provision for pass percentage in the examinations of B.A./B.Sc. (General), B.Com. (General/Hons.), B.Sc. (Physical Education), BCA, B.Sc. (Fashion Designing) and B.Sc. (Home Science) as recommended by the Committee dated 26.05.2015 (as per Annexure Pages 14(3-4)), applicable to the students who took admission in the session 2014-15 and onwards; The minimum number of marks required to pass the examination in each Semester shall be as under: (i) 35% in each theory paper/qualifying and subsidiary subject. (ii) 35% in each practical examination or Project Report/Training Report or Viva-Voce examination; (iii) 35% in the aggregate of Sessionals and examination for each theory/practical subject; Provided that in case of B.A./B.Sc. (Hons.) the candidate shall be required to have obtained 40% marks in each theory paper/practical examination and 40% in the aggregate of sessionals and examination for each theory/practical paper. Note: The above provision shall also be applicable in case of above said examinations under Annual System. AND Consequential amendments/additions to above mentioned Ordinances, as per Annexure Pages 14(1-2). STATEMENT OF THE CASE : Earlier in a meeting of the Committee dated 07.11.2012, constituted by the Vice-Chancellor, the Controller of Examinations apprised the Committee that there was different pass percentage for passing a University examination which was creating confusion while declaring the results. Thereupon, the Committee unanimously recommended amendment/addition to various Ordinance for UG & M.A. Examinations that the pass percentage should be 40% in each theory paper/practical examination and 40% in aggregate of Sessionals and Examination, w.e.f the session 2013-14, which were later on approved by the Academic Council vide its Res. No. 3 of 27.05.2013 and the Executive Council Res. No. 3(2) of 31.10.2013. But while declaring the results of the candidates for B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. First Semester examinations, held in December, 2014 it has been reported by the Examinations Branch that with the implementation of the above mentioned pass percentage provision University pass percentage will come down to 4%-5% in each course. Accordingly, the matter was re-examined/re-looked by the above said Committee in its meeting held on 26.05.2015 and the Committee after detailed deliberations recommended the following provision for pass percentage to be 19

applicable to the students who took admission in the session 2014-15 and onwards in B.A./B.Sc. (General), B.Com. (General/Hons.), B.Sc. (Physical Education), BCA, B.Sc. (Fashion Designing) and B.Sc. (Home Science). The results of students who took admission before 2014-15 will be declared according to the pass percentage then existed: The minimum number of marks required to pass the examination in each semester shall be as under: (i) (ii) (iii) 35% in each theory paper/qualifying and subsidiary subject. 35% in each practical examination or Project Report/Training Report or Viva-Voce examination; 35% in the aggregate of Sessionals and examination for each theory/practical subject; Provided that in case of B.A./B.Sc. (Hons.) the candidate shall be required to have obtained 40% marks in each theory paper/practical examination and 40% in the aggregate of sessionals and examination for each theory/practical paper. Since meeting of the Academic Council was not being held shortly and results of First Semester of above mentioned examinations were to be declared, the Vice-Chancellor took the above action. 15. To consider the action taken by the Vice-Chancellor in anticipation of the approval of the Academic Council/Executive Council in approving the recommendations of the Committee dated 22.07.2015, as per Annexure Pages 15(1-2) regarding giving a Testimonial to the M.Tech. (Applied Geology)(5-year Integrated Course) passout students by the Chairperson, Department of Geology to the effect that the student has passed First Eight Semester Examinations (4 years) of M.Tech. (Applied Geology) (5-year Integrated Course) Programme, the marks of which can be considered as equivalent to the marks obtained in a Bachelor s Degree in Technology only for the purpose where marks are needed as prerequisite, as per specimen at Annexure Pages 15(3). STATEMENT OF THE CASE: In the meeting of the Academic Council dated 21.10.2014, under item No. 16, while considering various amendments/additions to clauses 1.1, 3.1, 3.2, 6.1, 7.2, 11.1, 12, 14 and 15 of the Ordinance for Master of Technology (M.Tech.) (Applied Geology) (5-year Integrated Course) Examination (Semester System), one of the members pointed out that the provision as mentioned in the note to Clause-13 of the item that on successful completion of 4 th year of the integrated programme, the Controller of Examinations shall issue a certificate to each student to the effect that passing of papers from I to VIII Semester courses is equivalent to passing B.Tech. Degree, required approval by the AICTE. Dr. A.R. Chaudhary, Chairperson, Deptt. of Geology informed that this is an integrated course in which no B.Tech. degree is given and only M.Tech. degree is awarded after the successful completion of the course. The Vice-Chancellor informed the House that there is some ambiguity. Therefore, it was: RESOLVED THAT THE ABOVE AMENDMENTS/ADDITIONS BE APPROVED BY DELETING THE FOLLOWING NOTE OF CLAUSE-13: On successful completion of 4 th -year of the integrated Programme, the Controller of Examinations shall issue a certificate to each student to the effect that passing of papers from I to VIII semester courses is equivalent to Passing B.Tech. Degree. The Executive Council vide its Res. No. 33(10) of 01.12.2014 approved the above recommendations of the Academic Council. Again, vide note dated 13.04.2015, the Chairperson, Department of Geology written to say that the M.Tech. students of the Department are facing problem while filling up job applications on-line. The automated system does not proceed before filling their Bachelor degree marks. In view of this, the Committee, consisting of (i) Dean Academic Affairs; (ii) Dean, Faculty of Sciences and (iii) Chairperson, Department of Geology met on 09.01.2015 to 21

resolve the above mentioned long standing demand and recommended as under: Out of the total ten (10) semesters (5 years) the marks obtained in first eight semester (4 years) may be considered as equivalent to the marks obtained in Bachelor s Degree. These marks may be presented by the students only for the purpose where the marks of B.Tech. are needed as pre-requisite. In this regard, a certificate of the marks obtained in the first eight semesters may be issued by the Controller of Examinations. However, no bachelor degree is permissible after eight semesters and the only degree of M.Tech. will be awarded on successful completion of the entire course. The above mentioned recommendations of the Committee were deliberated at length in the meetings of the following Committee held on 26.03.2015, 07.05.2015 and 22.07.2015 : 1. Deputy Registrar (Academic) After detailed deliberations the above Committee has made its recommendations, as per Annexure Pages 15(1-2) which are submitted for consideration. Since the meeting of the Academic Council was not being held shortly and some of the students were to apply for HSSC posts, the Vice-Chancellor took the above action on the recommendation of the Chairperson of the Department of Geology. 16. To consider following amendment/addition to Clause 4 of the Ordinance- Master of Arts (Semester System) appearing at page 307-320 of K.U. Cal. Vol.II, 2014: EXISTING PROPOSED (w.e.f. the session 2016-17) 4. A person who has passed one of the following examinations of this University, or an examination recognized as equivalent NO CHANGE thereto, shall be eligible for admission to the relevant M.A. First Semester Course :- (a) to (m) xxx xxx xxx (n) For Sanskrit: B.A. (Hons.) in Sanskrit with at least 45% marks in the aggregate; or B.A. or an examination recognized as equivalent to B.A., with Sanskrit (Elective or Compulsory) with 45% marks in Sanskrit or 50% marks in the aggregate; or Shastri (Vishishta with English) with at least 45% marks (out of the aggregate excluding the additional papers) in Sanskrit. 4. (n) For Sanskrit : B.A. (Hons.) in Sanskrit with at least 45% marks in the aggregate; or B.A. or an examination recognized as equivalent to B.A., with Sanskrit (Elective or Compulsory) with 45% marks in Sanskrit or 50% marks in the aggregate; or B.A. or any Graudate from a recognized University/Institute without Sanskrit with at least 60% marks in the aggregate having Sanskrit as a subject in Matric/Senior Secondary (10+2 leval); or Shastri (Vishishta with English) with at least 45% marks (out of the aggregate excluding the additional papers) in Sanskrit. xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx xxx Note: Similar amendment/addition shall be made in the Ordinance for M.A. (Annual System) Examination. STATEMENT OF THE CASE: The above amendment/addition in the eligibility conditions for M.A. Sanskrit Course were proposed by the Postgraduate Board of Studies in Sanskrit in its meeting held on 18.10.2014 for implementation w.e.f. the admissions of the academic Session 2015-16 to give chance to those students who wanted to study the subject of Sanskrit at the UG level but could not opt Sanskrit due to non-availability of Sanskrit teachers in their College/Institute and also for those students who passed B.A. or an equivalent course with atleast 60% marks in the aggregate having Sanskrit as a subject at Matric/Senior Secondary (10+2 level). Since admission process for the session 2015-16 was over, the Vice-Chancellor approved that the above eligibility conditions may be made applicable for the session 2016-17. Hence the above. Rajender Kumar Sharma Scholarship of the value of Rs. 1000/- per month every year to one student of M.A.(F) Sanskrit of Department of Sanskrit, KUK who secured 1 st position in M.A.(P) Sanskrit out of the interest accrued on the Endownment fund of Rs.2,00,000/- remitted by Sh. Amrish Kumar Sharma c/o Ms. Anupama Radha, Madhav Sadan, 1186-1/12, Gali No. 4, Shanti Nagar, Kurukshetra-136119. Rules for the award are as per Annexure Pages 17(1). STATEMENT OF THE CASE: Sh. Amrish Kumar Sharma has deposited a sum of Rs.2,00,000/- for institution of Scholarship known as Smt. Shakuntla Devi and Shri Rajender Kumar Sharma Scholarship of value of Rs.1000/- per month for 12 months every year to one topper student of M.A.(F) who secured 1 st position in M.A.(P) Sanskrit, Department of Sanskrit, KUK out of the interest accrued on the Endowment fund of Rs.2,00,000/-. (FASHION DESIGNING) EXAMINATION (Semester System) ORDINANCE BACHELOR OF SCIENCE (B.SC.) (FASHION DESIGNING)/ (INTERIOR DESIGN) EXAMINATION (Semester System) 1.1 The duration of the course of instruction for award of B.Sc. (Fashion Designing) Degree shall be three academic years, comprising of six Semesters. Each academic year shall be divided into two Semesters i.e. July to December and January to May/June. 1.1 The duration of the course of instruction for award of B.Sc. (Fashion Designing)/ (Interior Design) Degree shall be three academic years, comprising of six Semesters.
