Commonly asked questions Are there any Honors or AP MSA classes? A: Honors Anatomy & Physiology during Junior year and Honors Athletic Training Senior year. Can I take other Honor or AP classes as an MSA student? A: Yes, many of our students take honors or AP classes as an academy student. You just will not be integrated into the academy class for that subject If I cannot decide between the class paths, can I choose to take more than one? A: Yes, because two out of the three routes are after-school classes

Projects & Activities Academy of Health & Medical Sciences College Tours and Competition One of the goals for the students of the Medical Science Academy is to know which college they would like to attend before they graduate high school. One of the ways we attempt to achieve this goal is through college tours. MSA Clubs 72 Beats Club 72 Beats was founded by Chibuzo Ikonte after he went into cardiac arrest at basketball practice. MSA students utilized CPR and an AED, which ensured his survival. Inspired him to start a club that educates teenagers on the importance of CPR and how to perform it. Valencia High FAQs 1. What will my daily schedule look like? All classes are 56 minutes long. You ll take 6 classes each day. (See next slide with sample.) 2. Does the Academy affect athletic teams or clubs? No. All sports and clubs are open to anyone. The academy does not interfere with sports teams or clubs; this is a great way to meet new people. 3. Can I take theater, art, music, video or ASB? YES. The electives and arts classes including Theater, Marching Band, Art and Video are open to all MSA students, regardless of pathways. If you choose to be in the academy as well as one of these electives, you will not have enough room in your schedule to take a foreign language. 4. Can I take AP courses in my 11th & 12th Grade Year? YES. These courses are available to all students. 5. What if I want to leave the Academy? Students are allowed to leave the academy at anytime, but the last opportunity to join is the beginning of your sophomore year. However, we encourage students to pick carefully now and stay!
