High School vs. 4-year College HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION Social Science: 30 credits 10 th World History, 11 th US History, 12 th Civics/Economics English: 40 credits Mathematics: 20 credits Science: 20 credits One year each life science & physical science Fine Art or Foreign Lang: 5 credits Fine Art: 5 credits PE/ Health: 20 PE, 5 Health Electives: 85 credits Passing grade is D or better Minimum of 230 credits = HS diploma UC/CSU A-G REQUIREMENTS A Social Science 2 years, World History & US History B English 4 years C Mathematics 3 years (recommend 4+) including Integrated Math 1a-1b, 2a-2b, 3a-3b D Lab Science 2 years (recommend 3+) one year life science & one year physical science E Foreign Language 2 years same language (recommend 3+) F Visual & Performing Art 1 year (two trimesters) of same class G College-Prep Elective 1 year Grades must be C s or better

Off Roll- What is it? Off Roll is a time in the student s day when they are not enrolled in a class. Students who are passing their courses can choose up to one off roll period per trimester. 1st Period Off Roll = Any 9th Grade Student 5th Period Off Roll = 9th Grade Students who earn a 3.0 GPA or above in their previous grading period

FAST TRACK Del Norte s pre-registration processes that we like to call FAST TRACK will begin towards the end of April. You can expect a document to come home with your student the end of April as well as information about the FAST TRACK registration process with that document. We will also post important registration information on our website. Completing all of your student s documents and turning them in by the due date, tentatively May 5 th, will ensure that you are not waiting in long lines during the summer registration.
