From the Principal Term 3 Special Assembly Thank you to all the visitors that came to our Special Assembly. As always, the students were extremely well behaved and I m sure that you will agree that the Band and Dance items were superb, as were our School Leaders. Congratulations to all the students that received awards. Token Day What a great day we had on Tuesday! We were very fortunate with the weather and all the boys and girls enjoyed themselves immensely. Year 6 students and staff did an excellent job of organising Token Day and the students should be congratulated on the way they ran the stalls and events. A variety of photos appear later in the newsletter. Well done! K-2 Athletics Unfortunately, the K-2 Athletics Carnival was postponed due to wet weather. The carnival will now be run next Tuesday, 20 th September. Arrangements will be the same as for the previous date. Kindergarten Enrolments Enrolments are now being accepted for Kindergarten 2017. If your child is turning 5 before July 31 st 2017 and they are within the school s designated area, they are eligible to enrol. Please come to the school s front office to make any enquiries or to pick up an enrolment form. As this will be the last newsletter for Term 3, we wish all our families a very safe and relaxing holiday break. Mrs J. Maher Deputy Principal From the Deputies Uniforms During Term 4, we often see students deciding to wear items of clothing that are not part of our school uniform. Please ensure that your child is in correct uniform each day, including black shoes and that if there is a reason for them to not be in uniform, you write a note to us stating the reason for the variation. Overseas Travel A reminder to parents that at any time you intend to travel overseas, you will require a Certificate of Extended Leave. This certificate is issued by the school and may be asked for at Immigration, either on departure or re-entry. Please enquire at the office. Kiss and Drop Zone The zone is running extremely smoothly and we have noticed that we are clearing the area by around 3.15pm each afternoon. Please be reminded of the following: You are not able to leave your car when in the Kiss and Drop zone. No Parking applies in this zone. Children will only be able to get into parents cars when the car has moved down to the area in front of the teachers. As you would appreciate, this not only keeps the traffic flowing, but also ensures that students can be safely supervised in a more contained area. Thank you for your assistance. Mrs J. Maher Deputy Principal Mr I. Duncan Deputy Principal

Premier s Spelling Bee On Thursday 15 th September Arin K., Chiara G., Lara C. and Arya G. travelled to Quakers Hill Public School to participate in the regional finals of the Premier s Spelling Bee. All students represented our school with pride. The competition was fierce, however in both the junior and senior competitions the students were able to make it past the halfway points before being eliminated. A special mention to Chiara who was placed 7 th in the Junior competition. With words like rigorous, myrtle, ferocity and sociology, our spellers should feel exceptionally proud of themselves for the wonderful job they have done! Mrs R. Flett
