42 evaluation days during fall evaluation period. 168 evaluation days during spring evaluation period. ~Limit of three (3) evaluations during academic year: One evaluation during fall; Two evaluations - April 15 through May 31 (one evaluation to assess athletics ability and one evaluation to assess academic qualifications). ~Not more than six (6) offcampus contacts per PSA at any site. ~ During spring evaluation period (April 15 through May 31), FBS head coach or head coach-in-waiting may not: engage in off-campus recruiting, participate in off-campus coaching clinics, visit a PSA's educational institution, or; meet with a PSA's coach at an off-campus location. ~Practice/competition site restrictions
For athletes who receive a scholarship from a Division I university on or after August 1, 2008, their initial eligibility will be evaluated under the 16 core course rule. (2004-2005 ninth grade) you will need 16 core courses as outlined below: 4 years of English 3 years of mathematics (Algebra I or higher) 2 years of natural/physical science (one must be a lab science) 1 year of additional science, math or English 2 years of social studies 4 years of additional core courses (they can be from any listed above or from nondoctrinal religion or philosophy or foreign language)
ELGIBILITY CENTER OR NCAA CLEARINGHOUSE You will not be eligible to play college sports or get an athletic scholarship from an NCAA school without registering and being cleared by the NCAA Eligibility Center. Create an account on the website *Parents you can create an account for your child Pay $70 dollars ($120 for international students) *fee waivers are available to student athletes and you can talk to your high school counselor about how to do this once you have created an account. Have your high school counselors send official copies of your transcripts Have the appropriate testing agency send official copies of your SAT or ACT test scores Complete the amateurism questionnaire online When you graduate high school you need to request final certification and have you high school send your final transcripts and proof of graduation The Eligibility Center used to be called the NCAA Clearinghouse

Graduate From High School Can Be a Stepping Stone to Play Division 1 Football You Must Graduate from Junior College with 60% plus 2.5 gpa of your Core Major Completed If you are a Qualifier you do not have to graduate from Junior College but you must maintain 2.5 gpa Cheaper than Division IAA, Division II, and Division III 2-3 Rule Meaning you played 2 years of Junior College Football and you have a Red Shirt Year and 2 years to play Division I, II, III Football 2-2 Rule Meaning you redshirted and played 2 years of Junior College Football and have 2 years to play Division I, II, or III Football 3-1 Rule Meaning you are a Division I Qualifier and you played 1 year of Junior College Football and you 3 years to play Division I, II, or III football with a Red Shirt Year.
