ANNUAL REPORT : 2016 2017 Most respected Chief Guest of the day, Dynamic Secretary, Respected President, Highly esteemed members of the managing board, dedicated members of the staff, and dear student teachers. I feel greatly privileged to present before you, the report on the activities of our college during this academic year 2016-17 on this occasion. Courses Offered : Virudhunagar M.S.P. Nadar College of Education was started in 2008. On this memorable occasion we remember with gratitude, the founders of our college, the M.S.P. Nadar family. Our College offers B.Ed Degree 2 years programme in Tamil, English, Mathematics, Physical Science, Biological Science, Computer science, History and Commerce & Accountancy under self financing stream. Students Strength : This academic year we welcomed our IX batch students on 1 st Sep 2016. At present we have 60 students in the I Year, 76 students in the II Year and 14 staff members (including both teaching & non teaching). Education should consist of both quality and values for the overall development of the student and for the benefit of the Nation and Society. We are happy to announce that students of our college are provided with quality education, discipline, integrity and the value of hard work. Our college paves way to the students to achieve their goals successfully. Infrastructure: Students are provided with all educational facilities to facilitate the teaching process and to provide a conducive ambiance for learning, The management meticulously constructed this building with excellent infrastructure, spacious and well- furnished classrooms, seminar hall, fully equipped labs and highly modernized, and updated computer lab with internet facility. Following are the facilities available in our college. Fully equipped computer lab with 40 high performance computer systems with Wi-fi facility, giving opportunities for each and every student to give hands on training. Generator installed, to provide uninterrupted power supply to all the rooms.

A photocopier machine for the convenience of the students. Ramp, for the convenience of the differently abled students. Co Curricular and Extra Curricular Activities : Every system of education aims at moulding the individuals to play their roles in the society most effectively. To bring the sense of responsibility, loyalty, team spirit, healthy competition and to develop positive attitude, our college celebrates important days like Teacher s Day and Science Day in a fitting manner. Workshop: An One day Workshop on Disaster Management was organized on 21.10.2016, And National Disaster Management training was given by G.Arumugam, the Training Officer, and the certificates were issued to the students. VII Graduation Day: VII Graduation day of our College was organized on 03.11.2016, The Degrees were confered by our Chief guest Dr.V.Balachandran, M.Com.,M.B.A.,M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D., Registrar, Alagappa University, Karaikudi. 82 canditates received their B.Ed Degree Certificates in- person. Ramanujan s Birth Day Celebration The great Mathematician, Ramanujan s Birth Day was celebrated on 23.03.2017 by the Department of Mathematics. Dr. R.Hariharan, M.Sc.,M.Phil.,NET.,Ph.D., Assistant Professor in School of Education, Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Madhya Pradesh was the Chief guest and he gave a talk on the topic Realizing the Inner Potential of Learning Process. Tamil Elakkiamantram Tamil Elakkiamantram was organized on 20.03.2017 by the Department of Tamil. Kavinjar Jeevajothi. K.Selvam, M.A., M.PEd., Physical Director, Government Higher Secondary School, Kariapatti, was the Chief guest and he gave a speech on Nattupatrum Nalammika Ilaingarkalum.

Literary Association Literary Association meeting was organized by the Department of English on 28.03.2017. Dr.M.Meena Devi., M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Department of English, VHNSN College was the Chief guest. She gave a speech on Guru Vs Teacher National Science Day National Science Day was organized by our Physical Science Department on 28.02.2017. Dr.N.Prithivikumaran, M.Sc., M.Phil., Ph.D., Associate Professor,.Department of Physics, VHNSH College was the Chief guest. He gave a talk on Nuclear Energy myths and reality. Biological Science Department Biological Science Department Association meeting was conducted on 01.03.2017. Dr.N.Nirmal Kumar, M.Sc., M.A., Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, VHNSN College was the Chief guest. He gave a talk on Clean India. Computer Science Department Computerl Science Department Association meeting was conducted on 23.02.2017. Dr.D.Nataraja Sivam, M.E (CS), Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Annamalai University was the Chief guest. He gave a talk on Recent Trends in ICT. History Department History Department Association meeting was conducted on 09.03.2017. Dr.M.Pitchai Mari, M.A., M.Phil.,Ph.D., Associate Professor, Department of History, SBK College, Aruppukottai was the Chief guest. He gave a talk on Today s Political Scenario & Employment Opportunities. Commerce Department Commerce Department Association meeting was conducted on 27.02.2017. Mr.S.Baskaran, M.Com., M.Phil.,PGDCA, CA., Head of the Department of Commerce, VHNSN College was the Chief guest. He gave a talk on Climate Change.

International Women s Day International Women s Day was celebrated on 08.03.2017. Dr.A.Mohini M.A., M.Phil.,PGDCA.,M.Sc.,(yoga).,Ph.D., Associate Professor, Department of History, VHNSN College was the Chief guest. She gave a talk on Rights of Women Various competitions were conducted for the students on this occassion and prizes were given. Participation in Competitions: Besides curriculum we motivate the students to take part in various competitions and cultural activities. We give priority to the students to hone their skills in areas of their interest. All the departments conducted various competitions for the students. The certificates and prizes won by the students for proficiency in extracurricular activities show the quality education we offer. Our students participated in competitions conducted by other colleges also. Three of our students M. Sony (Iyear), S. Parimala (II year), and K. Saranya (II year) have received II Prize for Dumb Charade conducted by the Maths Department of VHNSN College. Placement Cell: The placement cell of our college has been playing a vital role by accommodating our students in various educational institutions. Campus and interviews were organized by our placement cell. Our students are getting better positions regularly in various reputed institutions based on their skills. Campus Interview was conducted by Minerva Public School, Aruppukottai and 7 of our students were selected for job. In the interview conducted by K.V.S.Centenary School, Virudhunagar, 4 of our student got placement. Celebration of National Festivals : Different festivals have certain historical meaning to celebrate. Further festivals are moments of togetherness where in we reach out to our friends and relatives and share our best wishes. Therefore we celebrate National Festivals to guide the students in the correct path. Independence Day: To show our respect to the dedicated souls who fought for our freedom, Independence Day was celebrated on 15 th Aug 2016. Our Secretary Thiru. A.S.K.R.J.Saravanan, B.E., hoisted the national flag.

Teacher s Day: To honour the dedicated teacher, the students of our college celebrated Teacher s Day on 5 th September 2016. Dr. N.Malathi, M.Sc., M.A., M.Phil.,Ph.D., Former Professor and HOD of Economics, Annamalai University, Chidambaram, was the Chief guest. Republic Day: Republic Day was celebrated on 26 th January 2017. Our President Thiru. M.D.Kumaran, D.P.Tech., hoisted our National Flag. Pongal Festival: moment. The celebration of Pongal festival on 14 th January 2017 became a memorable Fluency Development Programme To improve the English Communication skill among the B.Ed trainees, a Fluency Development Programme was organized for our II Year B.Ed trainees from 16.03.2017 for 30 hours. Viruthai Viruthu An Inter Collegiate Competition Viruthai Viruthu 2017 was organized on 14.03.2017. 91 Participants from 7 Colleges in and around Virudhunagar, participated and V.V.V.College for Girls, Virudhunagar, got the overall Championship. Conclusion: The growth and development of our institution largely depend on the caliber of its teaching and non teaching staff. The staff identify the talented students and bring their skills and efficiency to light. I thank them for their willing co-operation and faithful service. Our students have a major share in the success of our College. They bring laurels to the institution and win distinctions in Curricular, Co-Curricular and Extracurricular activities. I thank every one of them and wish them success in every walk of life. I express my heartfelt thanks to our Secretary Thiru. A.S.K.R.J.Saravanan, B.E., for his encouragement to lead our college to the progression path. I extend my gratitude and thanks to the Chief guest and our former secretary Thiru. P.C.S.Govindaraja Perumal, B.A., for his gracious presence and blessings on this occassion.

I thank our President Thiru. M.D. Kumaran, D.P.Tech., for his remarkable presence and constant motivation. Also I thank our Vice Presidents Thiru. B.A. Anandarajan, B.Com., L.L.B., Tmty. S.Kanchana Devi, M.Sc., and our Treasurer Thiru. B.Sankar, B.Com., for their support and encouragement in all our college activities. I thank our Advisor Dr. N. Ashok kumar and Dr. P. Sundara Pandian, Principal of VHNSN College (Autonomous) for their timely suggestions, advice and guidance in the growth of our college.
