Our New Services!
Transferring Between Institutions can be Confusing! Will my previous course work count towards my degree? Are my courses transferrable to a university? How will I know?
Student is registered in one of our three colleges and has 6 units on record AND Student has a declared educational goal Associate degree or Associate Degree for Transfer Certificate program Planned transfer using CSU GE or IGETC AND Student has completed lower division courses at a regionally accredited college or university
When the student is NOT: Planning to earn a degree or certificate for one of our District colleges OR Seeking CSU GE Breadth or IGETC certification from one of our District colleges Or, when a student IS: Attending in order to complete requirements/prerequisites for application to a second baccalaureate program OR Attending in order to complete prerequisites for application to a graduate program

Many requests received daily Small staff Two full time people for our three-college District Articulation takes time! We strictly adhere to CSU Executive Order 1065 and IGETC Standards v1.4 as well as the local requirements for Associate degrees at our three colleges Most students have more than one transcript, and some have many units Some transcripts take longer to evaluate: Courses from long ago Out of state and private institutions Foreign course work Even some of our CSUs/UCs have unique (and interesting!) General Education patterns that do not easily equate with CCC courses Questions from Counselors, Financial Aid personnel, students, etc. take time to answer Process is still evolving and being streamlined Still working on automating loading of electronic transcripts
Students can view their transfer work in Degree Works to get a total picture of how it applies to their current goals Students can register for classes more easily because transfer courses articulated in Banner clear prerequisites! Counselors can spend less time with transcripts and more time with students Students can easily look at different ways in which their transfer work and their in-district work combine to apply to various educational goals Students have a good sense of what they need to do to achieve their educational goals Admissions and Records personnel are able to use Degree Works, which includes the students entire academic history when they process Associate degrees and certificates and certify CSU GE and IGETC. Counselors love it! Students love it!
