OLNA Online Literacy & Numeracy (OLNA) Testing in March (and again in September) Term 1 Week 6 & 7 Students who have achieved Band 8 in NAPLAN are pre-qualified Students required to attain Category 3 in Numeracy, Reading & Writing to achieve the WACE The Seeker Finds
GENERAL & FOUNDATION COURSES Assessment outlines: All Year 11 General and Foundation courses will follow an assessment outline Students who have not passed their OLNA will only be able to access the foundation courses These courses do not have exams at the end of semester/year Not completing an assessment task could result in your child not progressing into or completing Year 12 Year 12 General and Foundation courses will also incorporate an Externally Set Task (EST) which is a state-wide assessment that is used to moderate teaching and learning in schools: Weeks 4,5 & 6 of Term Two The Seeker Finds
VET COURSES Certificate II or Higher Mainstream as part of timetable same time (5 blocks) Or External VET program Continual assessment of vocational skills Non-numerical scores competent or not! Will not show on Connect yet this will be added in future

WACE WHAT DOES IT MEAN? Students will in general do 6 courses (12 units) each year (or equivalents eg a certificate) Year 11 and 12 = 20-24 potential units/equivalents (some programs have study which don t count)

PAIS AND LINK (OFF-SITE) Pre-Apprenticeship in Schools Automotive Hospitality Engineering Plumbing Link Electrotechnolgy programs involve regular days away from school. Students in these programs have a modified timetable.

LINK Lab Skills/Animal Care/Retail Cosmetics/Community Services 4 days a week at school 1 day a week away from school at the (Thursday) In addition work placements occur as either: 1 day a week in a work place (Thursday) or week long blocks in a workplace Students may be required to complete up to 15 days of their work placement during school holidays.
LINK Nursing Programs 4 days a week at school 1 day a week away from school at the (Thursday) Diploma of Nursing students will complete a work placement towards the end of the course in Year 12 Certificate IV Nursing Preparation do not have a workplace component.

WORKPLACE LEARNING (ADWPL) Course integrated into the Certificate course Completion of Logbook and a series of questions is required RTO will also use the Logbook as evidence 55hours= 1 Unit Log of hours (verified by Employer) Document daily task schedule (verified by Employer) 10 questions in Skills Journal per 55 hour unit
WORK PLACEMENTS Arranged by School arrange insurance paperwork and permission forms for both student and employer.
COMMITMENT Students commit to the program for the duration Uphold school behaviour expectations and attendance (90%) at all times If suspended from school it will include days It may jeopardise your position in program Manage workload and study program.
