2018-19 Course Registration *Your 8th grade teachers make recommendations for your academic classes. Parent signature for each selection is required. *The back page of the registration form is used to complete the 8 classes you are registering for. Be sure to list 2 alternate electives in the spaces provided or we will choose for you. No schedule changes will be allowed. *Course Registration Forms are due to your middle school by February 26th.

OPPORTUNITIES You will want to talk to your advisor, your peers, your teachers, your parents, and your counselor to determine the best courses for you to take to help you on your individual graduation plan.
Testing Requirements Every student must pass the following classes with End-of-Course (EOC) tests: English: 9th Literature, 11th American Literature Math: Algebra I, Geometry Science: Biology, Physical Science* Social Studies: U.S. History, Economics End-of-Course is 20% of final course grade *Students may take Physical Science or Physics (no EOC for Physics)
HOPE GPA Average of all core curriculum coursework (English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and World Language) Includes failing grades Middle school grades in high school credit classes are not included Converted to a 4.0 scale (A=4.0, B=3.0, C=2.0, F=0) Official HOPE GPA calculations can be found by logging into your child s account on www.gafutures.org
Tardy Policy Students have six minutes between classes for class change. When the warning bell rings, students have one minute to get to class. When the tardy bell rings, the door is locked! When the tardy bell rings, administrators will be conducting Tardy Sweeps to assist students in getting to the tardy check in station. After the 3rd tardy to class, students may be assigned to lunch detention, after school detention, Saturday School, and/or In School Suspension.
Attendance Policy The Attendance Office is located in the main building lobby. Students may drop off/pick up notes before school, after school, or between classes. All students must turn in a note within 3 days of an absence to the Attendance Office. Students check in/check out through the attendance office. Only the legal parent/guardian may check a student out or sign a written check out note. We do not accept faxed or emailed checkout/in notes.
