US IN MONTRÉAL SUPPORT Association of Art Museum Curators & AAMC Foundation 17TH ANNUAL CONFERENCE & MEETING MAY 5 8, 2018 - MONTRÉAL, CANADA Each year the Association of Art Museum Curators (AAMC) & AAMC Foundation Annual Conference & Meeting has gathered over 400 art curators from every discipline and type of organization together, providing a unique opportunity to connect across borders, fields and organizational type. Over the four days of programming, we foster the profession's cohesiveness by addressing issues of direct relevance, assisting in professional development, and promoting dialogue and exchange among curators. The Conference is widely promoted by AAMC, our individual and institutional members, and supporters. In addition to our members, guest Conference attendees include host city leaders, foundation directors, supporters and sponsors of AAMC, and other community leaders, such as the Google Cultural Initiative, Getty Foundation, Henry Luce Foundation, Emily Hall Tremaine Foundation, Association of African American Museums, Mellon Foundation, and Samuel H. Kress Foundation. The 2018 Annual Conference & Meeting, scheduled for May 5-8, 2018 in Montréal, is our first outside the United States and will have a robust and varied program that speaks to our mission. For this Conference, our sessions will focus on collaboration, cooperation, engagement and interpretation, which will build upon and continue our discussions of inclusion and access. We will again be offering opportunities to connect and share through our RoundTables and expanded weekend tours and events. Sessions will focus on implementing within our art community a scholarly commitment to the investigation of race in art and visual culture; working with and the responsibility of curators in collaborating with artists from lesser known regions; moving art institutions and curatorial practice away from the colonial legacies they were founded upon; Latinx identity and pipeline within the latinx community; and digital literacy and collaboration within museums. As part of the Conference, the 2018 Keynote Dialogues will focus on cultural preservation, collaboration, and research methods in developing inclusive and equitable exhibitions, collections, and networks. Photo credit: Michael Seto ABOUT AAMC & AAMC FOUNDATION Founded in 2001, the Association of Art Museum Curators (AAMC) today has over 1,300 members from over 400 institutions around the globe. AAMC & AAMC Foundation celebrate the curatorial narrative by supporting and promoting the work of art curators at all stages in their career through opportunities for networking, collaboration, professional development, and career advancement. In the ever-changing, non-profit visual art world, AAMC is the voice for all curators regardless of field, experience level, and institutional type. We ensure that the curatorial perspective on art, museums, and educational issues is actively communicated to the public, media, and museum profession.

US IN MONTRÉAL SUPPORT OPPORTUNITIES: CONFERENCE SPONSORSHIP PARTNER CORPORATE SUPPORTER (INCLUDES DISCOUNTED ADVERTISING) CIRCLE DONOR

SPONSORSHIP AWARDS FOR EXCELLENCE PROGRAM SPONSOR The Awards for Excellence, highly esteemed by art curators everywhere, is the only award of its kind by which curators directly honor the work of their colleagues. Through the Awards, launched in 2004, the AAMC has honored over 150 curators for their outstanding work in catalogues, essays, articles, and exhibitions. At the 2017 Conference, our formal Awards ceremony reception welcomed 300 individuals celebrating curatorial achievements, and quickly went viral across the museum community. Supporting these respected Awards is an exceptional opportunity, as we will give access beyond the Conference with acknowledgement on the Awards webpage and all communications, including the call for nominations and Awardee press release. In addition, there is an opportunity to present the Awards live on stage during the ceremony. In 2018, on the evening of Sunday, May 6 when the majority of our attendees have arrived, we will host our Awards for Excellence Celebration at a prominent local museum.
