YORBA LINDA HIGH SCHOOL ASSOCIATED STUDENT BODY EXECUTIVE CABINET - Job Descriptions ALL EXECUTIVE CABINET MEMBERS MUST HAVE AT LEASE ONE YEAR ASB CLASS EXPERIENCE BEFORE RUNNING FOR OFFICE. ASB President Duties are: To preside at all school assemblies, rallies, the ASB Budget Meeting, and at all ASB meetings. To help appoint commissioners. To lead the student senate. To compile a daily agenda for all meetings and assign daily tasks. To act as a general representative of the student body. To act as a liaison between the student body and the administration. To say the Pledge of Allegiance at YLHS school functions. To serve as a role model for all ASB members and set the tone for YLHS ASB. ASB Vice President Duties are: To work with the President to set the agenda for Student Senate meetings. To assume presidential duties during the absence of the ASB President. To chair the ICC Meetings and help implement the Club Rush Days ASB Ambassador Duties are: To maintain a fundraising calendar of all on-campus club, athletic and booster club fundraisers. To maintain positive and continuous communication with the greater Yorba Linda High School community, through the Yorba Linda Internet homepage, local businesses, newspapers, and radio stations. To work as a liaison between ASB, student groups, and the PTSA. To help implement the Club Rush Days. To attend meetings of the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District, Yorba Linda High School, and the City of Yorba Linda as necessary. ASB Secretary Duties are: To record and compile the minutes of the Executive Council meetings and insert these minutes into the ASB record book. To organize and compile a collection of ASB event reviews and suggestions to be used as a reference for future years. To perform all secretarial duties as assigned by the ASB President, Executive Council, or advisor. To help maintain a clean classroom. Write thank-you notes for all school events.

ASB Treasurer Duties are: To keep a complete and accurate record of the financial affairs of the student body and to inform the Executive Council of such. To compile a monthly statement of all ASB trust accounts to be presented to the Executive Council. To work with the ASB Advisor and Financial Secretary to oversee that organizations and athletic teams keep within their budget limits. CLASS OFFICER Job Descriptions PRESIDENT SOPHS PLAN Sadies JUNIORS PLAN PROM Make sure that all class events are implemented. Schedule regular class meetings with officers and advisor to discuss class needs. Take into account the needs of all class officers, and the class as a whole. Perform other duties as assigned by class advisor or ASB advisor. VICE PRESIDENT Fill in for the President whenever the President is unavailable. Gather all class competition participants for rallies and break time activities. Perform other duties as assigned by class president, class advisor, or ASB advisor. Work with ASB Vice President to conduct ASB Class Senate meetings and activities. SECRETARY/TREASURER Write thank-you notes for all class events. Keep a record of all class meetings. Perform other duties as assigned by class president, class advisor, or ASB advisor. Handle all the money for the class and manage money for all class events, including Food Days and other fundraisers. Keep an accurate record of how much money the class has at any one time. Work with the Activities/Finance Clerk on re-stocking, re-ordering and running the ASB Student Store. In charge of scheduling workers and filling in when workers do not show up. Is in charge of spirit wear inventory.

COMMISSIONER - Job Descriptions All ASB commissioners are appointed to their positions Commissioner of Publicity Duties are: To keep the ASB office properly stocked at all times with paint, paper, and all other large media tools. To ensure that every Yorba Linda High School event is publicized through the use of bulletin announcements, posters, and flyers. Commissioner of Media Tech Duties are: To care for and maintain the ASB sound system, I-Pod, CDs, and keep properly stored each day. To operate the ASB sound system at all ASB-sponsored events. These include rallies, break and lunch competitions, athletic contests, and other events. Provides sound and lighting for all ASB and school activities as needed (assemblies, senior quad days, lunchtime activities, etc) Maintains Sound System Coordinates all music and ASB ipod Provides computer skills where needed Updates ASB web page weekly with information Creates Video for Assemblies Commissioner of Athletics-Boys Duties are: To keep Yorba Linda ASB informed of all upcoming Yorba Linda Boys athletic events. To publicize boys athletic events through posters, bulletin announcements, and activities To give fair recognition to all Yorba Linda Boys athletics. Commissioner of Athletics-Girls Duties are: To keep Yorba Linda ASB informed of all upcoming Yorba Linda Girls athletic events. To publicize girls athletic events through posters, bulletin announcements, and activities. To give fair recognition to all Yorba Linda Girls athletics. Commissioner of Special Projects Duties are: To plan and promote Canned Food Drive To plan and Promote Blood Drives To plan and promote any special projects/activities on campus Commissioner of Spirit Duties are: Organize break/lunch activities. Plan and organize all activities ASB deems necessary. Organize and promote spirit on campus. Commissioner of Community Service Duties are: Develop new community service projects. Plan and organize Canned Food Drive. Contact City Hall for community service projects. Coordinate Mustang Pride Day with PTSA

Commissioner of Fine and Performing Arts Duties are: To keep Yorba Linda ASB informed of all upcoming Yorba Linda Fine & Performing Arts events. To publicize all Fine & Performing Arts events through posters, bulletin announcements, and activities. To give fair recognition to all Yorba Linda Fine & Performing Arts. Historian Duties are: To take photographs of all ASB events. To compile those photographs, along with clippings and other memorabilia into the annual ASB memory book. To work alongside Yearbook and Newspaper to help create pictured memories Commissioner of Link Crew Duties are: The sole purpose of this position is support and lead the Link Crew Leaders Plans one summer Link Crew leaders hangout Helps plan summer registration/orientation program Plans monthly Link Events Invites staff to all major Link Crew events Commissioner of Student Recognition Duties are: To plan and implement all academic recognition programs Mustang Pride, Lunch Bunch, etc. To help plan and implement academic rallies. To nurture and develop an academic recognition strategy that rewards all levels of achievement. Recognize staff and student birthdays. Commissioner of Staff Appreciation Duties are: The sole purpose of this position is to recognize the staff for achievements and dedication to EHS Supports Staff with information needed about ASB/EHS student Activities Supports Staff with staff appreciation gifts Supports Teacher of the Week programs Invites staff to all major ASB events Plans Staff Appreciation Week in the Spring Commissioner of Spirit Duties are: Organize Mustang Spirit Weeks Must attend all home football and basketball games and organize spirit activities. Help with rally spirit and activities. In charge of the Mustang Mascot. Commissioner of Elections: Duties are: Creates all Ballots for all courts Plans all coronation events from nominating to crowning Promotes all ASB leadership opportunities such as advisory s and community service events Coordinates all ASB elections in the Spring Along with Senior Officers, plans Homecoming ½ time When not conducting business, he/she will help wherever is needed. Commissioner of Clubs/Diversity Duties are: Plan and promote Diversity Activities at YLHS Work with clubs to promote diversity on campus Plan and promote YLHS International Week Assists VP in all Club activities.

All ASB members are required to: Represent Yorba Linda High School with dignity, pride, and integrity at all times. Make posters to publicize YLHS athletics and activities. Keep a Leadership Notebook. Attend at least one Yorba Linda High School performing arts performance per semester (choir, band, or drama). Attend at least two different Yorba Linda High School athletic events per semester. Decorate for all on-campus dances. Assist in the set-up of rallies, class competitions, and various other ASB activities. Assist fellow ASB members with their activities as needed. Form budgets for each year and designate the amount for each activity. Be responsible to keep track of expenditures and balance. When not actively involved in their own project, assist with all others in progress. Work before school, at break, lunch, and after school when necessary to plan, set up, implement, or clean up activity.
